    Bungie Should Just...

re-release Halo 1 on Xbox Live and make it playable over XBL. I've been trying to get it working through XBOX Connect and was thinking how much better it would be to just have it finally XBL compatible. When playing through XBConnect, you'd be lucky to get five or six players in a game with no lag. If it were playable on XBL, we could finally experience some lag-free 8v8 CTF at Blood Gulch and other bigger games. It's tough to get four TVs, four XBOXs and 16 guys in one room to take full advantage of the game.

if they did that they'd have to update the game as well and make it compatible with XBL and stuff like that. not to mention they'd definitely have to nerf the pistol.

But if they did some minor upgrades and made Halo: CE playable (multiplayer only) on XBL with up to 16 people, I'd definitely get it.

It would be cool, but I don't think it will ever happen, and even so Halo 1's multiplayer is so unbalanced now I find it hard to play it for anything more than kicks anymore.

How was it unbalanced? You always had the pistol on you, so were never really at a huge disadvantage to someone with power weapons. Most of the maps on Halo 1 were also better than anything that was on 2 or 3.

Needless to say, if Bungie did release this, I would buy it release day and most likely play it for a very long time.

Depends on the map. You didn't always start with a pistol. Sometimes you started with a plasma pistol which was so useless.

I just feel like the pistol, although awesome, it way overpowered and the other power weapons like the shotgun and rockets are too good.

Don't get me wrong, I think its awesome, and I would buy it if they rereleased it for 360. I also agree that Halo 1 had some great maps, probably better than the ones in 2 and 3.

I just feel that Halo 3 has spent so much time being played online and developed with a ton of stratigies and balance to keep the game fresh and there are so many ways to counteract different strats and weapon combinations of the other team that Halo 1 just feels kind of arcaic at this point.
