    XBOX LIVE Pricing Announced!!

    XBOX LIVE pricing as follows.

    Xbox Live one-year renewal/subscription
    $49.99

    Xbox Live monthly rate
    $5.99

    Xbox Live Voice Communicator
    $29.99

    Xbox Live Starter Kit
    $69.99

    A two-month free trial will also be widely available this fall.

    The subscription rate means gamers who already have the service can extend their service for a full year at the same price of the service's launch. Renewals can take place online, or consumers can purchase subscription cards from a local retailer. The monthly rate is designed for those who want to test out Xbox Live, or for sports fans who only want to play during their favorite sports season. And you'll notice that the Voice Communicator headset will soon also be sold separately.

    Details on pricing updates in other Xbox Live markets have yet to be announced. Also on the way are announcements concerning the ways in which Xbox Live will evolve later this year based on user feedback.

    We will have much more on these and other Xbox matters from E3 next week, perhaps as soon as Monday night, when we will be attending Microsoft's Xbox press conference. Stay tuned

                                      Still seems high for hooking people up. Their expense is basicly nothing. They don't pay for any server software and they use very little bandwidth. Once they had the chat software working (which is all over the net for free) they were basicly done.

                                      This might be the next thing that helps MS improve their earnings by an extra .01/share so BG can be worth another 10 billion.

                                      Oh.. BTW - I am still happy its not 10/month as I prob would refuse to pay that.
