Exactly why MS not giving in to EA

EA wants to charge monthly fees extra for games on the console and also once the new version of each game is out the older version becomes obsolete online.
I dont know but I think EA has got the wrong slant on online play--maybe thats why their plans are losing $$$$. I think EA is just trying to scrape everything they can but it spells doom to me. I mean Madden is a better offline game anyways. Polls over at gamespot say 90 % gamers wont pay for service. Madden is the only game really established. NHL, NBA are behind the competition right now anyways. I mean I think paying for the service like LIVE--49.95 for year is fair--exceptional games people may think about paying for like BF1942 or Halo 2--maybe can be justified.

you have it backwards. Microsoft would release their API's and system calls to allow connectivity to xboxlive. EA doesnt need to cough up any code, unless its part of the development process when making games for the xbox

exactly...EA just wants money from the Xbox live subscription fee, which MS doesn't want to pay. It's all about money

I hope it stays the way it is. Competition will keep pushing both companies to improve their online system which will do nothing but give us new features.
