Anyone else impressed with the graphics engine of that video? According from what I heard it was all in-game but as someone else said thats what Killzone stated also and we know how that turned out. We will see.

I thought Bungie said that the "trailer" they showed was the actual in-game cut scene of the first two minutes of the game?

Bungie is probably the only videogame company I trust...so I'll believe that it was an in-game cut scene.

I wish we got to see some actual gameplay, but I'm pumped anyway.

That is why I sometimes hate these trailers. Plus I thought they had said that we would see a glimpse of gameplay in this trailer. I guess we wait till next year to see any gameplay vids.

Here we go.

When it was announced they said that what was going to be shown at the VGAs was part of the opening cinematic.

Also, I don't really get the comparison to Killzone 2. That trailer was shown almost 4 years before release. I'm sure people will bring up the Halo 3 and Halo 2 premier trailers, but Reach is in a much further development state than both of those at the time of their premiers, and besides this part of the opening cinematic that you will see when you boot the game up next fall, and all the cinematics in Bungie's Halo games are done in-engine.

It was my mistake thinking that we would see gameplay footage......which prompted me to make that Killzone 2 comment. LOL!

The thing I liked about the trailer the most was the animation. Definitely looks like their putting that new mo-cap studio to use. Previous Halo games have all used hand-keyed animation, and well if you played them recently, especially ODST, you can see how stilted the animation is and it looks really dated compared to a lot games these days.

Looking foward to January when the info starts to rolling in.

I would go nuts if their new engine actually simulates gravity... in all previous halo's it looks like your guy is not making contact with the ground and slides everywhere. It's not a big deal for most people but it's a huge pet peeve of mine. Sport games in general lack a sense of gravity as well.
