One of my favorite NES games of all time, River City Ransom, sort of expanded on the whole idea behind Renegade, with some RPG-ish elements and better controls. Man, me and my bro tried so hard to beat River City Ransom but we would always end up at this high school and be completely stuck.
RCR was one of the best NES games of them all. It was like Double Dragon with a twist of RPG elements. You'll go to a store and buy drinks and food to gain energy...man, you brung me back.

I beat it once. Me and my friend had to stay up almost all night to do so. That last part in the high school was a serious pain in the ***. If I remember correctly, the last boss(es) are these 2 badass brothers that you have to take out. They whipped some serious ***, but we got 'em eventually.

Also, forget about beating the game in singleplayer. It is almost impossible, considering you are outnumbered in almost every fight.

Man these games bring me back too!! Like everyone else, I used to love Nintendo. But I would always be disappointed because I would play a game at the arcade, then when I got the Nintendo version, it wouldn't be anything like the arcade version. Compared to today's consoles, I can't believe just how sorry Nintendo's graphics were!

Do any of you guys remember when Nintendo had a hotline phone number you would have to call if you needed a hint on how to pass a certain point or level in a game? I remember it was a long distance phone call and you would tell this guy what game you were playing and what part you were stuck at, he would then look up the answer and give it to you. But they charged you for the answer and the call. I hope somebody remembers this or I'll feel like the King of all Nerds!!
