Decisions to make about Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour!

hey everyone! I am graduating high school in 2 weeks, and have decided to ask my father for either rock band 2 or guitar hero world tour as a graduation present.

I am a HUGE death metal guy, and actually like screaming guttural vocals. I played rock band 2 at my friends house the other day, and got an expert on are you dead yet? while screaming all the while

SO, I've got a couple of questions for all of you who play either or both games.

1. I know that Guitar Hero World Tour has custom songs you can download, whereas RB2 does not. Is there a website anywhere where I can see a full list of every single custom song that's been uploaded to the GHWT server? Because I'd consider downloading bands like Kalmah, Ensiferum, or CoB, but if i can't find a whole lot of their songs, I'd just buy RB2.

2. Is GHWT a complete death metal black hole, like I've been led to believe it is?

I absolutely SUCK at the actual instruments in this game, and while I'd like to be able to learn to play them well eventually, I would still prefer whichever game has more death metal vocals available to them.

If anyone knows of any websites where I can see the different GHWT custom songs available, that'd be much appreciated as well.

the guitar hero custom songs are nothing to get excited about. They sound like midi cell phone ring tones, which was done to prevent copyright infringement. So download you're heart out if you like playing Guitar Hero songs that sound like NES music.

Well in that case, I think it might be best if I go with Rock Band 2.

Also, it's about 20 bucks cheaper at gamestop (at least online), so it looks as if that's the better deal all around.

GHWT has:

and

"Disconnected" In Flames in one of the Euro packs but you can get the song by itself and maybe some more in the Euro packs but I'm not sure.

They're all DLC don't think there's any on disc. Dunno what Bullet for My Valentine counts as.

RB 2 has this pack:

"Blinded by Fear" At the Gates
"D.O.A." The Haunted
"Thrasher" Evile

Standard pricing applies.

Also some awful thing known as Visions on disc,it's by one the HMX bands but I don't think it constitues an actual song and therefore would defy classicifaction but you might like it. It's just some girl throwing up with the rest of the band smashing stuff in the backround I think. There might be a song in free 20 too but not sure.

LOL, the worst (best?) part is that your description of the song is for all intents and purposes completely accurate.

Goh: out of the three songs you mentioned for Guitar Hero World Tour, the only one that really interested me was the Chimaira one, even though they're not death--just "heavy", really.

At the Gates is an awesome melodeath band (melodeath is my favorite type of metal, so that's a plus!) and i also sang DOA at my friend's house, and enjoyed it, so that's another plus.

Edit: After checking out the list of downloadable songs for rock band 2, I have to cross myself and wear garlic everywhere. Black Tide hasn't just invaded the NHL--they've invaded Rock Band, as well!!! Everybody duck!!

Well you aren't going to find much death metal on either game. Rock Band 2 does have some terrible song called Visions that sounds right up your ally. It does have quite a bit of regular metal, though.

When it comes down to it - GH sucks, and RB does not suck - so I'd go with Rock Band.

Not to mention, the custom songs don't have vocals. You can sing along to them, but you won't get scored for them or anything.

When it comes down to it - GH sucks, and RB does not suck - so I'd go with Rock Band.
