I'm buying Rock Band 3 today because of this news. 3DD baby!

EDIT: Crap, they need all the 3DD sounds to be pro-available! That would make me get a Squier Stratocaster today as well!

          Re: Rock Band 3

I hate to do this, especially after the compatibility chart was JUST posted...but I'll do it anyway.

I'm a big Aerosmith fan. Strike that, a HUGE Aerosmith fan. As such, I have an interest in GH:Aerosmith. I have it on the Wii because it was given to me as a gift. I'm interested in getting it for the PS3 just because I rarely play the Wii anymore and I'm used to the RB Strat...and Amazon has it for under $5.

Anyone know if the RB Strat works in GH:A? I know it didn't initially, and all compatibility charts say "No" (but most were last updated quite some time ago)...but I think I remember Activision patched them to work after a compatibility agreement was reached:http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/...bility-update/...I thought it was update 1.10, but that's all off memory.

Google leads me to different results. A 1.10 update for hacked consoles. Compatibility charts that, as I said, are outdated on some level. A post on the RB forums from September '08 that says that the PS3 Strat does work after a patch.

$5 for the game for me is worth it...but buying a new guitar isn't. So yeah, anyone know?

              Hey gang,

Next week's DLC includes five incredibly varied singles, including 3 Pro upgrades! Two stand out singles from fan favorites System of a Down– “Aerials” and “Hypnotize” - make their way to the store. SOAD’s modern rock riffs are offset by the pop hooks of R.E.M.’s “Man on the Moon” and The Vapors “Turning Japanese”. A classic cut, “For What It’s Worth”, from Buffalo Springfield, rounds out the offerings for July 5th!

As always, songs available as downloadable content for Rock Band 3 feature five-button guitar and bass parts, drums, Pro Drums, and keys, Pro Keys and harmonies, where applicable. Some songs also feature Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades available for an additional $0.99 upgrade download.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (July 5):

              • Buffalo Springfield – “For What It’s Worth” X

              • System of a Down – “Aerials”X

These tracks will be available for purchase as individual tracks on Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Yeah just checked out the lyrics and that is the only Buffalo Springfield song I think I know, just thought the title of that song was different. Im definitely getting that one. Might not get Hypnotize now.

I cant think, Does SOAD have keys at all? The old dlc doesnt but that was before RB3. Not a big fan but might be persuaded to get those two if they have keys.

Yes but I don't think they're in either of those.
Further reason they should've put out Lonely Day instead.

I finally got to play a game with someone from OS. For all of about 2 minutes when they quit when they thought they were going to fail. Of course I play with no fail on as drummers are constantly failing Don't Fear the Reaper. Apparently a since banned Street Fighter "grand master"'s skills don't translate to RB.

Sure but I only play on the free weekends. Probably won't be another one for a while.

Through the wonderous magic of keys I've found out the answer to the long standing question...can people actually play those messes they keep picking over and over? The answer is no. Instead of deleting them I picked keys which they don't have.
