Yes, I did - some random impressions through the first few missions: <ul type="square">[*]This is not HALO 2.[*]I'm not in love with the camera. It's important to keep in mind that this is not HALO 2. With all the hype I've been reading, I was really expecting the next HALO. It's not.

I'm trying to enjoy this game, free from the hype of the gaming magazines. So far I'm enjoying it, but I'm not flattened with awe, grabbing passerby and imploring them to partake of the goodness that is Brute Force.

It's important to keep in mind that this is not HALO 2. With all the hype I've been reading, I was really expecting the next HALO. It's not.

I thought it was being depicted as the next best thing since Halo (as in the first one) You can't expect it to be as good as Halo2 will be because it still only a first generation game and Halo2 is a full fleged sequel from an already experienced developer.

True. But it has been hyped to the skies. And were it not for the hype, I'd be in here raving like a bear on crack about what a freakin' fantastic game this is.

But after reading the comparisions between BF and HALO for a year (or more), I am ... underwhelmed. More a comment on the marketing than the game.

There is some damn cool stuff in here. Don't want to spoil anything, but the special powers are neat. And I'm playing on easy level, but am getting my a$$ kicked. While this often had the feel of a fast paced run 'n' gun, I am getting the feeling it will require more thought than that.

Anybody else retrieve the 1st two DNA canisters? It was funny after rescuing Brutus and I had to go in that room and kill all those colonist or whatever, Brutus did all the work. I was getting my *** torn apart, the next thing I knew, everybody was dead. Kinda like on Harlem Nights when Eddie Murphy shot out of that store and killed them all with 3 shots. It's pretty cool. I guess the game doesn't really start until you assemble the entire squad.
