I guess I'd have to say Red Faction as well. But really, I don't pay too much attention to industry expectations for the games I play, usually I just get the game if I'm interested and don't worry too much about it.

Earth Defense Force 2017! If pure fun was put into disc form, this game would the result.

        Blitz: The League II

Waited till Best Buy had it for $10, bought it hoping to get just a little out of it, and I've been playing it almost non-stop for a long time.

I guess I'll have to give ZEN Pinball some love, too. Who knew video game pinball could be digital crack?

Yeah, that's a good call on ZEN Pinball. I guess the PSN games would be the biggest ones as far as ones that fly under the radar. I'd definitely throw Geon and Comet Crash up there as well, as those are two PSN games I had a lot of fun with (not the only great ones, though).

without a doubt it's got to be the Orange Box. Five games on one disc (Half Life 2, HL 2: Episode 1, HL 2: Episode 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2) and I still play the multiplayer component (Team Fortress 2) almost on a daily basis.

It's shame not many people got into that game, but it was released at a weird time. Its release was sandwiched between Halo 3 and COD 4 so I don't think many people ever gave it a chance.

I would say that would be my sleeper as well, but I played it on my friend's 360 (never bought it myself) and I didn't appreciate they didn't have alternate control schemes for any of the games.

But Portal was a lot of fun.

I can't speak for any of the single player games, but Team Fortress has customizable controls. I use default but a friend of mine switched his up to Halo controls. Confuses me every time I play the game at his place.

Well, the one alternate scheme I need was to be able to turn with the left analog stick, like old games used to have, action/adventure games have, and the old PS2 James Bond games had.

Too bad they completely shafted the PS3 crowd.

This one's an absolute no-brainer for me - Valkyria Chronicles. Came out of absolutely nowhere to be one of the better SRPG's I've played.

Honorable mentions to LittleBigPlanet and Zen Pinball. They don't touch VC in this category though.

I wasn't surprised by it because I had played Team Fortress Classic almost religiously online when it was out. I guess I was surprised that it didn't have a bigger following when it came out even despite the releases of Halo 3 and COD 4.

I also remember when TF2 looked like your pics above (didn't want to quote them so I wouldn't make the post too big) and I'm glad they scrapped that idea and went in the direction they did.

well to be fair Valve hasn't done anything for the 360 version other than fix the online lag issues, which happened I believe shortly after it was released. I have heard, but not seen, how bad the PS3 version is and I agree, it's terrible that happened. Hard to believe Valve let their name be on it.
