    Re: Splinter Cell

Splinter Cell is an excellent game. I loved playing it. It is especially nice on the Xbox. The lighting... I don't really want to compare it to MGS though. Really they are in the same genre, but two different styles of game. SC is all about stealth and only killing by neccesity, while MGS is more about action with stelth mixed in. Both games are awesome. Can't wait for SC 2 and MGS 3. Btw, I could have my very own Xbox by the end of the week.

I Just got SC about a week ago (after trading the uber short but still pretty cool Enter the Matrix) i am very impressed with this game. The graphics are phenomenal and like mentioned earlier the control is spot on. I've gotten past the first level and am now on the oil rig level but i'm already struggling a bit.

The best this about the game is even though you have to do some bits (what feels like) nearly a thousand times before you get past a section it never becomes frustrating because it is so fun to do and once you have done the section you sit back and go "so that's what i was doing wrong, that makes sense."

Great game and thanks for the tip on the headphones, i'm gonna try it out for sure.

Seriously!! Once you get an Xbox w/ XBL...man online gaming on anything else (PS2/PC/GC) isn't the same.
Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.

I had gotten past another level last night... (still early in) I got past the one where you rappel down the wall into the window and stuff, then gotta get down that long hallway with the dude standing next to the alarm and the other dude patrolling, then on down into the parking garage.

This game is tons of fun! I must have spent an hour last night trying to take out the two guards downstairs of the kitchen and shoving the colonel's face into the retinal scanner, only to ball up the next part and have to do it again! lol

Yeah, you do end up having to do parts over and over.

However, I never minded it. Usually it makes me nuts to replay levels, but there is so much flexibility in SC, that it's always fun trying a new tactic, or just refining your tactics from the previous try.

Oh yeah... I don't mind it at all.... what sucked though was I'd drop out the chute into the cooler, and wait for the guard to talk to the cook and leave, then I take out the cook, hide him in the fridge, then take out the guard and hide him behind the counter in the cafeteria... well after doing this section like 20 times, I opted to just throw the cook's body in the middle of the cooler as opposed to behind that last shelf and then after taking out the guard and putting him behind the counter, I think, "AH! Now on to the tough part..." and as I start heading down the steps I hear "WOOP! WOOP! Body was found, that's one alarm too many!" *mission failure*

So now, no matter HOW time consuming it may be I hide those bodies good EVERY time!

You just highlighted one of the things i love about the game. I must have don't that bit you are talking about at least 15 times but eventually what i did was instead of killing the chef i would pick a bottle that is nearby and throw it into the cooler (after the guard had spit in the food ) the two chefs would run into the cooler to check it out and i would simply run into the next room. It's cool how there are different ways through the same section. I'm loving this game.
