    Single Player experience??

Hey guys, Some might remember I was looking for a good hack & Slash couple weeks ago. I ended up picking up TOO HUMAN and GEARS OF WAR 2 instead. For a good single player experience. I loved Gears 2, but the last boss was a terrible let down. I am still trucking through Too Human slowly.

I am looking for another good single player game. I have my eye on a couple and would like some help from my fellow OSers who might have played a great single player that I missed. Help me out guys.

    Games I am eyeing
Ghostbusters (Loved the demo is why)
Mirrors edge (Game length has me worried)
Star Wars force unleased (reviews scare me)
Conan (Saw it mentioned some people liked it)
Rise Of The Argonauts (I love the time period)

I am looking for a hack & slash style. Something more linear. I DON'T want anything open world style. I have had my full of open world games. I am looking for something for story based.

On that list what do you suggest and is there another title I am missing that is a good singleplayer experience?

The only game on that list that I've played is Mirror's Edge and I thought it was awesome. It was definitely something different than your typical game.I remember being able to beat it fairly quickly but I'm not a stickler for length. The story was nothing special and it isn't hack and slash, so I'm not sure how much you'd dig it. I think you should try that Wolverine game. That's one of the most fun single player experiences that I've had in recent memory.

I tried the demo out and it looks pretty interesting. Only thing I was not to keen on is how much emphasis was put on the pouncing. You have to do so much of it to handle the amount of guys thrown at you.

Orange Box is really good(Half Life 2 especially), and worth checking out.

Ghostbusters - I liked what I played of it but haven't felt motivated to keep playing yet.

Mirrors edge - Great game, just not very long.

Star Wars force unleased - I thought the demo was terrible.

          Conan - See Star Wars.

Rise Of The Argonauts - Solid game, great story,it is hack & slash but might be even shorter than Mirror's Edge. 3 of the 6 areas have an open world feel (it's 6 because you go back to one but it's linear the second time around).

I'd also suggest Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires. It's recent,it's cheaper,it's hack & slash and it's just as good as any of the DW games before 6 wich was terrible because they took all the cool stuff away but it's mostly back in Empires. All the DLC is free too.

            I second this.

I had a blast playing through HL2, Episode 1, and Episode 2 in order. All are great games, and imo Half Life has one of the better video game sp experiences/stories. Oh, and Portal is pretty cool too.
            Now, more than ever
