The problem I'm having now is that I keep running across cool Pokemon, but I like what I've got, which causes some tough decisions to be made.

I'm really only rocking Wartortle because I want to see the Mega Evolution of Blastoise and then I'll likely put him back up. I also put up Lucario as soon as I got him.

I'm trying to evolve Ferroseed and I have a pretty good setup with him right now, but I just cause a Skorupi and I like the evolved form of it a lot.

Decisions, decisions..

I'm trying to evolve an Electrike too. I've got the Raichu, but I want to get away from original Pokemon all together.

Some Pokemon I like, but they seem to be useless for most of the battled I'm in (Krokorok, and Pangoro). There's just not enough useful moves for those.

The Pokemon Thread

After reading a few pages about Pokemon X&Y which made me want to get it. I decided to dig this out of the closet and remove the inches of dust on it.



I'm debating if I should go pick up a 3DS and the new Pokemon game. It's been years since I've played one of these games. I would be to embarrassed to play this on the train to my college. I am wondering if there will be a nice Black Friday bundle though.

That pokemon Yellow has nothing on X and Y mane. Pick up that 3DS bro.


To guys who have beaten the game and have safari zone. Am I missing something or can you only get 2 out of the 3 available pokemon in certain zones? It seems like unless that user has beaten the elite 4 and unlocked safari for themselves, you can only see 2 out of the 3 pokemon in their zone. Either that or I have INCREDIBLY bad luck walking in the grass in the safari zone.

Yeah, as someone who had not played a Pokemon game since Gold/Silver, with the exception of a little Fire Red (essentially Pokemon Red), it's well worth it for the 3DS. I don't give a damn what anyone thinks.. it's fun.

Also.. is there anywhere in the game to get rid of nicknames ? I hate nicknames and I've received a few good Wonder Trades including a Froakie, but they have nicknames for them. It's no surprise, but it's been a chick trading them both times it's happened.

I've just been trading away most of my duplicate Pokemon. I'll see something I have and catch it and trade it.. works out well usually. Also got a Lileo. The evolve form looks bad ***, but I still have my starter fire type (Delphox). I don't really need it.

Again, that's the problem I keep having.. never enough slots in my party for what I want lol.

Thought I finally had a Ditto. Saw a guy wanting a Pumpkaboo for a Ditto, so I searched for it and traded a Kadabra for it. I didn't know it automatically evolved when traded.... fuuuuuuuuuu.

I check periodically because I keep seeing requests for some simpler Pokemon, but it's always out of my parameters. Someone wanted an Eeveee and all of mine are 20+ and they wanted 1-10.

So so picky these people are.. lol.

How I feel in a nutshell as well...the only difference being that Red (that is, original Red), was the last one I played, and not that far removed from its release date. And yet I can still pick up and play this new one as if it was yesterday, not 15 years ago. It just feels like a little bit of my childhood coming back when I play it.

Do you guys use the Exp. Share? Personally I prefer that to switching pokemon in battles to get them all XP (which always felt kinda cheap anyway, and yet necessary if you didn't want to spend hours grinding).

My only wish is that they would make the trainer battles more difficult...just like with Red way back when, the game seems easy. Then again, I know it's aimed at kids.

It's going to take a while man. A lot of the people that breed for shinies it can take any where from 1k-2k hatches before they got them, and even then it's not guaranteed.

It's definitely worth it; if you can afford the system and aren't like selling Mamas jewelry just to have enough lol. If you were a fan of any of the previous Pokemon, you'll like all the functional improvements, and new features they've added.


Only got a little time to play, so I'm a ways back from were you guys are... but I just got to that Huge city, really cool to go and check out all the little boutiques, cafes, and shops.
