I played the demo and although I wasn't totally sure what I was doing I had a lot of fun with it. Hopefully the game will have a fairly comprehensive manual. If not, I'm sure there are tutorials out there in cyberspace for the PC version. My biggest problem in my limited time with the demo was building roads. I built a garage and it was useless because I couldn't get a road to connect to the entrance/exit of the garage.

It will also be neat to go into sandbox mode and just do dumb stuff like create an alcoholic dictator and build nothing but bars on my island. I'll have a bunch of alcoholic citizens living in shacks.

I just finished the second Campaign Mission and the Rebels were alot more aggresive than the first mission. Nothing the Military and Secret Police cannot fix I LOVE THIS GAME

Its been $30 on Steam for quite some time now. I downloaded the Demo for my laptop to see how well it would perform, it did not go too well. I am just going to have to wait until February

The only reason I haven't picked this up is because I haven't even started, nevermind completed, Tropico 2. I loved the original Tropico and I must promise myself 50 times a year I am going to fire up Tropico 2 when I get home from work. But it never happens because you need like a huge block of time to get into the game. I found myself playing scenarios multiple times to meet the objectives. Some of the ones where you had to get X amount of fruit by a certain year were some of the most difficult experiences in gaming I've ever had.

Downloaded the PC demo and it was actually pretty cool. May have to look at picking this up.

No one around here has it. You couldn't even reserve it 2 weeks ago as the system wouldn't allow it. Either way no GS/EB's around here received any in.

Same deal with me, Im gonna keep on checkin though. When I was at Gamestop the saleman did not believe me that Tropico was coming out tomorrow, he was pretty confident it was not coming out anytime soon too. I had to humble him though by showing him a copy of Game Informer.

I was just on the Tropico Home forum and found a few tidbits:

Apparently the game is hard to find everywhere, some speculate that it will only be available online.

Also, there is appearently a save issue where the game does not save.

Well I downloaded for 360 and thought it was pretty addicting but the island was far too small to build how I prefer.

Has anyone had a chance to play both on 360 and PC if so I assume PC will have a better layout and controls?
