Trouble with Splinter Cell

I can't even get past the first mission. The part where the building is burning down, and you have to go down the steps. What in the world do you do to get past this?

After that, youcome out of the other door, to get to the staircase right. That's where I just burn up.

when you go down the stairs and into the room, look up!

Once you talk to the guy who is in the building and pinned down (he dies), turn on night vision, then look out the door in the back of the room, there should be a really dark room filled with smoke, you enter, then you shoot out the roof windows to release the smoke.

If your having trouble getting to that part, all you have to do is follow the girls directions, shimy over the pipe, on the stairs run through the gap in the flames or roll through the gap to be safe.
