Going with Infamous. Best combination of gameplay and story of any game I've played so far this year. Haven't had a chance to play Batman yet, though, so take it with a grain of salt.

I say Batman: Arkham Asylum by far and then Infamous 2nd.

Why is Godfather II up there? IMO, that game was terrible, which sucked because the 1st was so good.

I have to be honest, not one game that has been released this year so far has blown me away. The good news is that there are still four months left in the year.

I want to say Batman, but the since the dialogue was written for a five year old, I give the nod to Infamous.

Batman Arkham Asylum

It's got the exploration and Scan Visor (Detective Mode) of Metroid Prime, the variety of Resident Evil 4, the skulking of Riddick, and the atmosphere of BioShock. An then you got: One of the most beloved comic book superheroes and a developer that gets it and makes you feel like Batman. A good story pinned by Paul Dini, where you feel like you're playing out an episode of the Animated Series. Exceptional voice-acting, and while the laugh isn't quite as high pitched as he's done before, Mark Hamill is still the quintessential Joker. Great graphics. A lot games use UE3, but very few look as polished as this. It doesn't just raise the bar for future superhero and licensed games, but in some respects, it raises the bar for what to expect from future action-adventure games.

I haven't really played any non-sports game that dropped this year. Fight Night and Madden are my favorites of 09.

Im gonna guess MW2 will be GOTY. Up to this point I can't vote for any of the games on the list. If I had to it would be Killzone 2, but I haven't been very impressed this year.

I have to say Batman game was insane the way it was made just was surreal i never thought i would play a game like that which gives you the total control of my favorite hero when i was a kid.

but my list for top 3 go to;

1.batman
2.red faction
3.resident evil 5( big fan of series)/killzone tie lol

so far it's gotta be batman. This game really caught me and i'm sure a lot of other people by surprise. The last decent superhero game for me was spiderman 2 (last-gen) and of course infamous recently, but Batman just blows those 2 out of the water, shellacked those 2.

The game just oozes quality,polish and variablity in gameplay experience:

1) combat seems simple since the button config is so basic, but it's pretty deep as you can incorporate so many moves. The most important part is it really makes you feel like Batman and shows off his incredible martial arts

2) The stealth sections are incredibly well done. And so many moves and techniques can be applied in this section. From a silent takedown, the glide kick, setting traps , etc. This is all great, but it won't work without good enemy AI, which Batman fortunately has.

3) The exploration: ya they are not integral to the main story for the most part save some fingerprint sections, but I spend more time finding all the riddles, tapes and trophies than the main story.

4) replayibility: the challenge modes, joker levels, scarecrow bonus

5) graphics, immersion, presentation, control all top notch. Gliding with batman using his cape feels great. Gadgets all serve a purpose and works well....

this is as close of a perfect game as they come, I really hope rocksteady expands on this story for the next iteration. Even with the same game with a different story/setting will be awesome, but looking at this devs team quality, i'm sure that they will make more improvements for the next one.

I voted Batman.

But, of course, Uncharted 2 isn't out yet


Honestly though, with Batman, inFamous, and with what looks like more great games to come (Uncharted 2, MW2, etc...), this may go down as my greatest year ever for games.

Hell, you can even add sports games into that mix, for me anyway, as The Show, Fight Night, and Madden have all been awesome as well.

Batman easily. Why is Godfather 2 up there though? LOL Ghostbusters would have been a better choice if just trying to stick a game in the list.

Red Faction was my GOTY until playing Batman. L4D2 or MW2 will probably end up being my GOTY though, both are just going to be awesome.

I can't vote G.O.T.Y. for a game with no multiplayer.

Batman, is the best Action Adventure Game this year. Until Uncharted 2 comes out.

Batman is really great, but I still vote for InFamous as my favorite game of the year.
