Metal Gear Soild 3 Snake Eater

Ok. I've just recently downloaded the E3 2003 preview of Metal Gear Soild 3: Snake Eater, which seems to take place in the 60's and it seems that you are "Big Boss." Well I'm wondering what do you all think, is this game just a waste of time and I shouldn't get it when it comes out because its a "prequil" or do I get it to find out what really happened to "Big Boss" back then to maybe complete a "storyline" for when Konami makes the next "step."

What do you all think? I love MGS games and from the E3 2003 preview it looks great, you eat food, snakes, you hunt, and the graphics rule! You can hang from trees and sneak around, but is it all worth it storywise?

          Its definately better outside.

I hope they can actually come up with a good story for this one. MGS 2 was good on the tanker, but I didn't like the rest of it.

Well that depends. The codec is gone. Also the ability to see your enemies vision has also been dismissed. The story will play less of a factor than in previous games. SnakeEaters all about exploration and stealth. Also I'm pretty sure the lead character is Big boss for many reasons-1.The main character seems to be missing his right eye(According to the metal gear story, big boss does not have a right eye)
                      2. the pamphlet Konami handed out at e3 fit together to spell the words "Big Boss"
                      3. The setting seems to be in the 1960's. If that's correct and snake is the lead character that would make him over 60 when mgs1 took place.

Never the less, this game is sure to be nothing short of revolutionary. 2004 can't come soon enough

My goodness, just when I start to get worried about no great new non-sports games, along comes this. I know we'll likely have to wait till mid 2004, but I'll be one of the first in line to get this one. The E3 trailer video is out of this world.
