Demand for Activision's DJ Hero in the US is "well below" expectations for the game to become even a modest success, according to analyst Doug Creutz of Cowan and Company.
The company believes that the slow down in sales of music games is not a blip, and that casual and mainstream gamers are put off by the high price of music titles during a recession, while the buzz surrounding titles such as Guitar Hero has faded.Comment

Re: DJ Hero
IGN gave it a 9.0.
In an overcrowded genre of music games, DJ Hero resides at the very top with the best of 'em. The original mixes are stunning and scratching the turntable is just as fun as it seems. It's not as full-featured as Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero 5, but the simpler presentation really works in its favor. Like an '80s arcade, mixmasters will be gunning for those high scores on the leaderboards. A little headroom has been left for improvement with a sequel, particularly in the head-to-head battles and the way leaderboards display scores. But DJ Hero is already the most exciting music game around and is guaranteed to get the party started. To paraphrase Run DMC: gosh darn that DJ made my day.Last edited by Skerik; 10-26-2009, 03:22 PM.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: DJ Hero
IGN UK gives it 9.3
but it still costs too much. It's $10 more in Canada for the regular and $20 more for the Renegade. That means the Renegade edition cost more than the 360 or Wii and it's not even compatible with anything else.Comment

Re: DJ Hero
I want to get this but I went ahead and went with the buy 2 get 1 deal at Best Buy instead. I will probably wait until the price comes down to $100 or less and then get it.Comment

the game is fun, but the price is going to turn some people off until it drops a little. Guitar Hero sells because people can just pick up the game, without having to drop $100+ for a new version.
I also think it'll actually be good if sales are low at first because then the high price will drop faster. Hopefully before Christmas....Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: DJ Hero
The price might be a little too much but it is something that I would be interested in getting. Growing up on the Southside of Chicago I was totally into the DJ scence during the 90's. I still have my tables set up in my basement( although now my daughter uses them as a place to host her tea parties). I will wait to see if the price drops as we get closer to Christmas, but who knows I might just break down and get it."Half the lies they tell about me aren't true."

Re: DJ Hero
Looks like everyone was right about the possibility of low sales. I think, like somebody else said (think it was goh), sales will pick up when word of mouth spreads on how good the game is like the original Guitar Hero.

My trade-ins are going towards Tekken SE. More expensive but also more useful.Comment

Re: DJ Hero
I just ordered it off amazon. Definitley speaks to my childhood growing up with turntables. I sucked really bad but always waned to be a dj. For someone who's not a big rock fan but loves GH and RB this is right up my alley.Comment
