Buy a new controller, they're cheap.

All this trouble for a 20something dollar peripheral...

I think your best bet would be to buy a new one. You'd probably end up making it worse if you opened it up and just screwed around inside.

If you're gonna buy a new one you GOTTA dismantle the old one on the off chance of you actually fixing it. Unless........you go and trade in the broken one at a store one day, then go back the next day with your $5-$10 trade in money and save yourself a little bit when you buy new one, I knew someone who's done this, EB doesn't even check to see if stuff works when you trade it in anymore. But if you can't live with yourself knowing you ripped off EB for $5, then take it apart and try to play with anything that moves inside!

What the hell are you guys talking about.

THis has happened to me many many times...

Turn the controller upside down, take a tiny screwdriver. Unscrew all the screws and save 'em. There is one under the barcode label. Take the back off, Do whatever you have to do to unstick the button, clean it, sand it, do whatever, then just put the back on, and screw it back in

presto, just like new. Save your $20 until after you break it taking it apart.
