Yeah forgot about that one. Battlefront III was supposedly just about done when it got scrapped, at least in that particular incarnation. It was looking cool too with the ability to fly from within the atmosphere into space for ship battles.

Meh, I come away disappointed with every gameplay video that comes out. The visuals and sound appear to be awesome but the lightsaber baseball bat is still very much in effect.....with decapitation/limb slicing being a relatively rare occurance.

It was more than rarely but I have no problems with right lightsaber effects either.

The powers are even more out of control this time around. These games are supposed to be canon and yet, this apprentice regularly displays wild sith/jedi powers that no Master in the films (yoda, Palpatine, Vader, or Kenobi) could ever touch. That said, i'll still pick it up. The story in the first game was awesome and it looks to be cool this time around too.

Wait, so your complaining about over the top force powers? I mean I personally wish the movies were like this. The only real canon part of it anyways is the story.

I continue to hold out hope that we'll get another Jedi Knight game someday. I still have more fun playing the backward compatible Jedi Academy than TFU. Another modern Rogue Squadron-type game would be nice too.

I played those games and they were pretty fun. I personally would like to have those, plus FU2, and battlefront 3

When an apprentice can bring down a Star Destroyer it's pretty ridiculous IMO. It's just such a departure from everything in the Star Wars universe. No Jedi even in the expanded universe ever came close to weilding that kind of power. My biggest problem with it though is that there's no strategy behind anything. Star Destroyer? No problem.....just use the force to bring it down while Tie fighters are shooting at you. ATST? No problem. Just lift it up with the force and crush it like a beer can while 50 stormtroopers are shooting at you. I'd like the game to involve some thought process as to how you approach a situation.....rather than have Starkiller just waltz into a battallion of troops and heavy armor like he's some kind of God. I don't want God of War set in the Star Wars universe. That's what makes a game like Jedi Knight fun......you're not all powerful but if you apprach a situation the right way you're still an ultimate badass.

And judging by the gameplay vids.....looks to me like 85-90% of lightsaber strikes in this game still leave no mark. A lightsaber should never make contact with a stormtrooper and not at least leave a smoldering scorch mark on their body.

A lightsaber should not come into contact with anyone without killing or dismembering them, which would usually make them pass out from shock anyway.

Sure, you can do that the moment you finish them off, but one slash should be all it takes to take out any given stormstropper.

And outside of Force Unleashed, the most impressive display of The Force I've seen was Mace Windu in The Clone Wars. Not the stiff CGI show, the Glen Tartkowsky(sp?) animated version, where Mace is dominating a bunch of droids with his bare hands and The Force cuz I think his lightsaber was knocked away somehow.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I have no interest in this one. It's a "been there, done that" for me. Once I finished the story mode, I was done with the game. Battlefront III would have been a much better game to release. I still occasionally play Battlefront II on my 360.

It sucks that this comes out on 10/26 which is already loaded with so many other releases. October has become the new November.

I was pretty hyped for the first one purely from a technical standpoint. And while it was pretty awesome, the story just wasn't great and the gameplay got a little repetitive. I'm probably going to wait for a price drop before I pick this up.

I think the story was the most redeeming quality of the game. Definitely could have been done as a movie IMO.

Looking forward to 2, have my collector's pre-ordered. But that could just be the huge Star Wars fan in me.

me too on both fronts.

I'm super excited for this especially after all of the badd *** trailers.

Saw one clip where starfighter is on a bridge of some starship and he's just throwing smaller fighters out of the way. I can't freaking wait.
