The fall of 3d Realms, Duke Nukem Forever.

Pretty interesting article from Wired inside 3d Realms trying to top Duke Nukem 3d. Basically being autonomous was the beginning of the end for Duke Nukem Forever...

Great article. Really gives some insight into the gaming industry. The parallels between Duke Nuken and Chinese Democracy are pretty similar (Broussard as Axl). Hopefully, Duke finally gets released like the CD finally did.

        good read.

since it played out like that, hopefully 2k gets the rights, people get duke another nukem game, its a massive hit, and 2k stays afloat and keeps giving us nba a couple more years(and possibly choops revived again too)

Eh, I'm not sure I really care that much about the Duke Nukem brand anymore...they could reboot the franchise with a new team and whatnot, but gaming's way different now than it was then. Back then Duke was new, shocking, pushing boundaries...now he's just kinda old. Comedy in gaming has grown like crazy, so his act isn't quite as novel as it used to be.

I agree i don't know if its even worth it anymore. The original fans (myself included) have moved on. Even if TT got the rights, not to many people are going to want the game. The market is saturated with FPS games as it is. More-so on the PC where Duke cut its teeth.

This. I really don't understand the fascination with this game anymore. It's dated material.

I personally think there's still a place in video games for Duke Nukem, and I'd definitely buy DNF should it ever release.

lol. I don't give a rip about duke nukem. the point of my post was i want 2 k to stay afloat for bball games. Other reports have 2 k struggling and that would put the 2 knba game in danger of going the way of choops. Therefore I would like 2k to get the riGhts, produce a massive hit, and that helps NBA keep going forward.
