I'm looking to migrate the data from my 20gb to a used 120gb hd so I don't have the original kit with it.

XBox 360 Data Migration Kit
Does anyone know where one can find this for a reasonable price? Or perhaps does anyone here have one that they'd be willing to get rid of?

I live in Maine, so Craigslist isn't as rampant as it is in most areas, unfortunately. I have checked around my local Craigslist but have seen nothing in the past few weeks.Comment

You can get it from Microsoft directly. Or try Gamestop or GameCrazy.Comment

Re: XBox 360 Data Migration Kit
Well, you can find the cable for anywhere from 10-20 bucks. The DVD for the transfer will be tougher to nail down.
In theory you could just get the cable and use your PC as a medium to swap the data between, but I've read that the cable doesn't work too well with the 20GB HDD in that way (particularly with Vista). That might be something to look into though.
Otherwise, you are stuck with overpaying at Gamestop, etc.Comment

Re: XBox 360 Data Migration Kit
I checked my local Gamestop(which is probably where I'll get the HD from for $99) and they didn't have any.
I found a listing in Boston for a data migration kit on Craigslist so I'm going to see if the guy would be willing to ship it to me. Might be worth shot rather than go through the hassle of calling MS and waiting hours just to find out it will take weeks to get here.Comment

Re: XBox 360 Data Migration Kit
With MS, it depends on who you get. Technically, you are supposed to have the serial number from you 360 elite in order to get the cable. Some just give it to you if you just ask though, while others practically fingerprint you and do a retina scan over the phone...lol.Comment

Re: XBox 360 Data Migration Kit
Just an update. I ended up finding a used 120gb HD on Amazon last night that includes the data migration kit so I jumped on it. Total with shipping will end up costing me 85 dollars. I'll end up recouping some of that once I sell my 20gb and the transfer kit itself.Comment
