get battlefield: bad company $20 new, $17.99 used at gamestop. good shooter with a decent campaign, and good multiplayer. even has free dlc. plenty of people still playing online. tanks, helis, jeeps, humvees, boats, destructable environments, etc. i got my boy to grab this a few wks back and he plays this everyday, even after he bought modern warfare 2.

Agreed even though I don't play it anymore when BF2 drops its going to be a day 1 buy for me. Other than that...

I definitely wouldn't recommend MGS4. Even as a major MGS lover, the game was pretty terrible. I've also heard that the PS3 version of Orange Box is terrible, but I've never played it so don't take my word for it. Dead Space and Bioshock are definitely solid recommendations though.

I definitely wouldn't recommend MGS4. Even as a major MGS lover, the game was pretty terrible.

94 on Metacritic says hello. But I suppose I can see where someone wouldn't like it. "Terrible" is still hardly the word, though.

MGS4 gets by on it's name alone. It's boring and had none of the spirit or impact of previous games. I felt like they just wanted to end it and didn't care how they went about doing it. Sure some of the cutscenes were cool, but I felt no connection to any of the story or characters like I did with MGS, or Snakeeater. I will admit the final fight in the game was awesome, but overall I was really let down.

I agree this was one of my most anticipated games ever and I was extremely disappointed. After the classic Snakeeater was and how great the MGS series has always been MGS4 was terrible compared to other MGS games.

Yup

GTA4 got by on name to turn a good game into "WHOMG BEST EVER!!!"

MGS4 used name and pretty graphics to turn a garbage movie into "WHOMG BEST EVER."

Snake Eater is probably my favorite game ever, but this was so boring and tedious. The story seemed to be about 90% fan service that made little sense most of the time.
