Re: Transformers: Cybertron
Online is terrible, completely unbalanced and just not fun. Too much relied on Activison's kill streaks and perks.
Offline is fun, but the story is just A to B over and over again. Just no real excitement in it. I love the Transformers mythology but not sure why I can't get into caring about the story in the least.
Oh well, one of these years.Comment

I agree with this review more than the others. I'd give it a 5/10.

Re: Transformers: Cybertron
i have played the game like 2 days i am on chapter 8 i believe... IMO it does not deserve a 6.5 it deserves around the at least 7.5 to 8 ranges so far... i havent touched multiplayer yet so it can go up depending on my exp... i rented it.
it takes a big load of dump on the previous transformer games...
i just wish it was graphically better it seems borderline of being "aged"
the story is good so far typical kind of transformer story.......there is some nice battling going on i love how in the story mode the rooms are huge so the battles are epic.
its a definite rent but i dont know about buy but i will post back again later to give my multiplayer impressions ( like anyone cares )Miami Dolphins

Re: Transformers: Cybertron
The single player is a grind. There's nothing much to it than grinding out kills. Just doesn't feel fun, feels like it's force. Not even sure how to explain this.
As I said on Twitter, the more I play, the worse it gets. Everything is just so repetitive and unfun.
Online is even worse. I don't know what makes it unbalanced, it just feels some of the classes and perks are way too strong, especially as you level up. There's a melee perk that's one hit kill, it even says that in the description. There should be NO perk, no matter the kill streak that allows you to run through the map one hit killing.
Like I said, they took waaaay too much Modern Warfare 2 influence on it.
Now there is a lot that's fun. The horde mode, still awesome. The controls are very good, especially with transforming. But overall, the game has many issues.
5 or 6 out of 10 tops. I'm already done with it as of this morning. Just have little desire to even play it again, with Crackdown 2 in a week, I know I won't touch it again.Comment

Re: Transformers: Cybertron
That's not much of an accomplishment.
I played through the first chapter of single player 2 days ago and then haven't really had any urge to play it since. Once you strip away the Transformers (and its not that hard since 99% of the things you're killing are generic robots) its a pretty basic and mediocre 3PS. I haven't really played the Horde mode that much, but I've heard positive things about it so I'll have to give it a try.
I like the classes in multiplayer, but overall every level looks the same. I know its a giant metallic planet, but there isn't much variety between levels.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Transformers: Cybertron
I love the story so far in Single Player, though the game does feel a bit repetitious. I'm not too keen on their balance of the game, how units take damage, heal, or get ammunition (which IMHO should be limitedless, it's the Transformers after all!). The units don't have the proper momentum when transforming or moving in vehicle form / transforming.
Love the art in the game, the voice work is superb. Not sure why people think the game looks dated. The metal look of the transformers themselves is pretty impressive.
The best movement / control of a transformer is still the PS2 version of the game. You could be moving as fast as you could, transform while jetting from vehicle to air & transforming, hit the ground sliding while turning your upper body with the right analog stick. Took awhile to get used to, but it was awesome once you figured it out. I actually gave it a negative review when I first played it, but after I got it down, it became my favorite Transformer game, & to date still owns that title.Comment

Re: Transformers: Cybertron
I think they limit the user when they shouldnt as far as damage and ammo
Running out and not an abundant enough supply of energy and weapons, while the AI is the opposite.
You spend half the time either trying to get firepower or avoid getting blasted to death.
Storyline isnt bad... I do kinda hate looking at all metal everything as far as the world is concerned, but I understand... its just room to room missions moreso than anything, I see how that can get repetetive
I enjoy it though but they couldve done more for 60 bucks... wait til the price drops then get it I guess. I traded in a couple of unwanted games for itComment
