Ok my impressions after about 1 1/2 hours of play. The game does the star wars universe right. From the moment you first have control of your character, you can feel the star wars universe coming alive. I have yet to read the manual and have found my away around the controllers with just the tutorial. This means to me that the controls are intuitive.

Graphics are great, no need for super fast framerates, and they never really bog down. Enviroments are big, aliens and humans walking around everywhere. Gives you a sense of not being alone in the universe, like some other games.

Combat works. I enjoy the pseudo real time combat, but then again i have played many times through the Baldurs gate series. The ability to pause the game if things move to fast can not be underestimated. I think its a valuable tool that helps you manage you party more efficiently. Plus the fighting animations are top notch. Even from the first time you use a sword or blaster.

The voice acting, as everyone else has said, is one of the best i have heard so far. None of it sounds forced, and it all fits in with what is happening.

Gameplay is just right. Exactly the way an rpg shold be. This is not a final fantasy type game. Think of it as more westernized rpg. Again using the old D&D base for the rules on hitting, defending, and everything, and you have yourself a very immersive rpg.

WIll this game sell Xboxes? I dont think i am in a position to say wether that is right or not. But this game will be a nominee for GOTY. And i can only see it getting better as i get farhter

Now back to running around in the underground city of Taris, and then having to play some more ncaa 2k4

                  Re: KOTOR Impressions

I had the chance to play for about 2 hours last night. From what I've seen so far, I like this game. It's different from any other game I've played. (I've never played an RPG before.) It will take me a while to get used to the combat system and the "leveling" up of a character, but I think it will be a good change of pace. I'm just getting the hang of the combat system, so I can't really say if it is to my liking yet. I will say that it is different. Would I have liked to control the combat more? Of course! But right now it is just fine.

I can already tell I'm going to get a lot of game time out of this title. There are just so many character paths you can go with.

I agree, this game is top notch. I only played 2.5 hours last night, but it was great stuff. It's definitely Star Wars through and through. I LOVE the combat system. This is my first experience with that style and it works perfectly with this game. The sound effects/music/voice acting is great. If you have an xbox, get this game.

This game gets a big thumbs up from me so far. I got it yesterday and was just going to pop it in to give it a try before starting my NCAA franchise...five hours later I still hadn't started my NCAA franchise. I wish these games didn't come out on the same week
