    Re: KOTOR Characters

The thing I like about KOTR is the non-linear gameplay. You can choose your fate throughout the course of the game. My biggest fav is the ability to choose diffrent responses or questions when interacting with a NPC. Most RPGs are so linear that it may feel like you're moving along like a rail shooter.(FFX) The open-endness is what drives me to play this game. You've got a list of mission, and you need to gather the information to complete them and some you might not even get to. The fighting is just like any other AD&D game but the fact that its in 3D and almost like an action perspective like Morrowind makes it unique.

      Exactly Graphik.

I actually played "double agent" in a sequence last night. Played two people against each other, told them each I was on their side and would help kill the other one...

      Then killed them both

Thats the ish I'm talking about. Real NPCs who you interact with instead of the regular NPCs who give you a mission and you come back and they give you a staff +3 and a healing potion.

On that note, I'm only a level 5 scondrel so you know I'm not that far into the game but I remember that part with that ladie in the first cantine you go to asked to buy you and her some dinks for 20 credits. I dont wanna spoil it for newbies but what she did was foul. And that bounty hunter that counts up to 3. I tell you what, I did't let him get to 3.

LOL I let Calo get to 3. It was a quick reload, but I got his *** back later.

I never did see that girl in the cantina, I'll have to check it out on a 2nd or 3rd go-round through the game.

                        *** Potential Spoilers ***

I finally took care of Malaak yesterday and it only took me 27 tries! (I was getting so frustrated I started to count!) I finally got some good rolls on my 27th try. Malaak missed me twice and I was able to get in two 60pt + hits. I got lucky! Throughout the battle I had to save when I had an advantage. (To some that may seem like cheating but I've put enough time into this game) When Malaak is allowed to stun me and hit me three times with a 70+ attack, I think it's fair.

I did find three gliches that happened during the final battle.

                        1. Semi glich- I killed Malaak, but he killed me at the same time. It rolled into the cinematic scene where he is coughing and talking. When it came time for me to answer him, I couldn't select anything and a few minutes later it said everyone in my party had been killed. (So I actually killed him twice. Um yeah I was a little pissed off at that)

                        2. Since I was a darkie and had the death field power, I was able to take the life force out of the dead Jedi. (Just like Malaak does) Well I went over to a jedi and took the life force. I guess Malaak was trying to do the same but I beat him to it. Malaak just stopped. I couldn't hit him and he just stood there. I tried to talk to him, but I got nothing. Nothing would work. (Pissed here again, because I had the upper hand. Instead of going to another jedi the comp just couldn't process why it could not get a life force out of the jedi that I had taken.)

                        3. On another occasion, Malaak and I had taken the life force out of every jedi. Yet Malaak was still allowed to go over to a dead jedi(one that already had the life taken out of him) and get more life. If I didn't think the comp was cheating before, I certainly did now.

Well here are my final stats:

Yesterday I said I thought I was a 16 level Jedi. I was wrong. I was only a 12. No wonder why Malaak was so tough!

I started another one yesterday too! I'm in the Lower City right now. I'm a light-side woman soldier. (Sarysa Skywalker, yeah I know not too original) I can't believe how much easier this game is as a soldier. Yeah I don't get the stealth capability and the security points right off the bat (I was a scoundrel the first time), but who cares I can finally fight and I can level up quicker. I leveled up two levels before I even hit Taris! I can see why the light side never has any money. It's because you have to give it away to get people off these bounties.

You're a 20th level...the game combines the levels as your overall level. You can't get any higher than a 12th level Jedi and 8th level "other", as far as I know.
