    Microsoft announces X10 (media event)

Big things have come out of these events in the past, and the fact their bringing it back after 3 years says they got somethings to show. I'm looking forward to just seeing more from the games listed.

Cliff got something to announce? It's perfect timing with the PR.

So, the rumors are true. Microsoft sent out a media advisory Monday afternoon announcing X10, an expo for showing off upcoming Xbox 360 games and add-ons (that'd be Project Natal) this year.

Microsoft hasn't held the big Xbox event since X06 in 2006. X07 was canceled.

It ain't CES or PDC or MIX – X10 will run just four hours long on a Thursday afternoon, Feb. 11. It's at the Terra event center in San Francisco.

Some notable games on tap: "Alan Wake," "Crackdown 2," "Fable III," "Halo: Reach," "Splinter Cell Conviction," "Final Fantasy XIII" and more.

          There's no way it isn't Gears 3.

Would they announce it that early?...there's no way they'd put it out this fall and have it go up against Halo:Reach.

You never know. They could be going for the kill this fall. Sony hasn't really announced anything yet for the Fall yet. I think that GT5 might be pushed then for release, so I can see MS loading the fall up. Plus Nintendo is supposed to have Galaxy 2 and new Zelda title release in the fall.

I guess it's possible, but I would be surprised. I think Microsoft is going to mainly push Natal, Reach, and Fable III this holiday. I'm not even sure Gears 3 would be ready, and if Epic wouldn't won't a longer dev cycle after all the Gears 2 multiplayer issues, and there's also the hints of it possibly having RPG elements.

I agree. I really think that Microsoft is going to push Fable III hard if it has the integration with Natal that everyone thinks it will.

I wonder what the title of GOW3 is going to be: "Gears of War 3: The 'We're sorry' saga"

New Ghost Recon to be announced at the event? I don't think it's just a coincidence. From last week:

                      IGN

Is Ubisoft finally ready to unveil its new Ghost Recon title?

Community developer Aymeric Evennou recently tweeted the company is preparing for a major announcement, which seems to indicate the possibility.

"I'd only say: 'Big announcement coming up next week.' and I mean BIG!," he wrote. Evennou appears to be working with fellow Ubisoft community developer Kimi Matsuzaki of Red Storm Entertainment, makers of the Tom Clancy Ghost Recon titles.

Matsuzaki also tweeted a similar tease, saying "Looking forward to a big announcement coming up next week!"

Ubisoft announced Ghost Recon 4 during an investors call last April. Since then, several trademark names have been registered, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, and Ghost Recon Predator, which means the title could have a new name.

During Ubisoft's latest investor call in January, the publisher noted its new, and still unannounced, Ghost Recon title will be out during its fiscal 2011 year, which begins on April 2010 and ends March 2011.

Microsoft is hosting its X10 event in San Francisco next week. Perhaps we'll see details then? We'll keep you updated if we hear anything new.

Maybe they're showing new media of Warriors: Legends of Troy... lol. (Actually hoping)

But this is great news. I can't wait, and it's this week. Excellent.

Article posted:Speaking to Gamereactor, Lionhead maestro Peter Molyneux revealed that there will be some big Fable 3 news at the X10 event this week. "There's some very, very big things happening in Fable," said Molyneux, "Bigger than you think, and it's going to really upset people." Molyneux added that he is "really scared" about telling people the news, saying, "They're going to get super pissed off, they really are." Still, he concluded that it's "the right thing to do," and confirmed that he will be demonstrating the mystery announcement at X10 in San Francisco. Joystiq's theory: The entire story of Fable 2 was a dream sequence. Whatever it is, we'll be delivering the news directly from X10, so Joystiq's staff and readers can all get pissed off together.
I wonder what it could be that will piss people off. LOL!

We discussed that in the Fable III thread. Going by what we know and a dev post, I think Fable is fundamentally changing. There are some things that suggest simulation elements, which would certainly piss people off wanted more of the same action/adventurer/RPG Fable.

Thanks Flaw, I posted it here since it had to do with X10, but I will go to the Fable III thread to read everyone's thoughts.
