Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I wasn't very enthusiastic about the beta either, but I went ahead and picked up the game anyway like you did. I ended up trading in NBA 2k12, so the cost didn't seem quite as bad for a game I wasn't totally sold on. I'm hoping that I'll warm up to the full version once I give the game a spin because I am interested in trying siege mode. If not, it'll be getting sold back as quickly as I got it. It seems like everybody on my friends list was playing this last night.Picked it up against my better judgement (hated the beta). The reviews and impressions suckered me in. So far, it's very meh to me. Online is still poor IMO. It's just not the GR I know and love. Maybe after a week or 2 it'll change when the "COD type players" leave, who knows.
The horde type mode is a lot of fun, really the shining star of the overall package.
Single player feels disjointed early on. Didn't get to really sink my teeth too deep into it, but will this weekend. Everything I've read has praised the single player (sans the bad story) so we'll see.
Right now, it's a 6-7/10 game. Most, if not all of it, screams rush job to finally get it out the door after years of delays.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 05-23-2012, 03:18 PM.Comment

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Got through the first level or chapter or whatever they're calling it, I'm impressed with how well the teammate AI supports you. The enemy AI could be better but maybe they get tougher in the later levels. I like the challenges that you are tasked with to go along with the mission.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Thank you very much 23. My main concerns about the single player were the difficulty of the opponent cpu a.i.(If raising difficulty levels made for smarter a.i. or just made you weaker and gave the cpu a.i. eagle vision.) and my concerns that the camo suit might make things a little too easy if there were no caps or limitations on it's amount of use. I already thought it had the best cover system mechanic out of all the shooters I've played based on the BETA so I'm not worried too much about the multiplayer. With Gears 3, Max 3, BF3 I've got alot of MP options and was hoping for some good and smart SP action as well as MP.I tried to give a bit when I first got it but I haven't had time to play much since....life :/
The game is a tps
It has the best shooter cover system akin to rainbow six
You still have to observe plan and move as a team on your attacks
I don't think the ai is any softer than any of the cod games...you run in the open theyre going to get you...but the stealth camo works wonders
In other ways theyre are multiple ways to attack a group of enemies if you plot things out
The cinematic action scenes new to this game were put there to woo the cod crowd but this game is not as bad as guys were making it out to be because that stuff is not happening in most of the game
What do you want to know about sp man?

I will take your initial advice and throw down cash Thursday or Friday for my own test. Thanks for those insights.Last edited by NINJAK2; 05-23-2012, 05:00 PM.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Yea, $28 for NHL I was surprised and happy with that. Good for a game that's 8 months old. Now I just need the wife to turn American Idol off so I can be a ghost, what what.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I made a huge mistake in rentings this.. Online is limited to the beta style conflict, which I hate.. I don't care for the levels or powerups. Just give me straight up unranked GRAW2 multiplayer. I guess I take my $8 bucks, play single player, and move back to GRAW2. I should've stuck with my instinct after the MP beta left me bored after 15 minutes. Most of yall have the full version I'm sure.. What game modes are available among multiplayer? I loved the basic Campaign modes in Graw2, or co op elimination style, and we get to choose the maps etc.... Is this even remotely possible in FS?Comment

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I was in the same boat as you....until tonight. I just went ahead and paid for the online pass. It opened up a whole new world of customization. I hate Conflict. A friend of mine and I played Sabateour and Siege. We both rented the game and both bought the online pass and we are loving this game now.I made a huge mistake in rentings this..
