I haven't played in over a week and my headset broke but I play on random nights, no real specific times. Now that classes are starting again I have to be more judicious with my time.

S4 > Confrontation

Go ahead and play if you want constant freezing and rooms full of cheaters

and i like s4 better than COD at this point becuase its not as cheap and easy as COD...no killstreaks (excpet for the airstrike but thats not even really that bad)

Confrontation is more fun than S4.

The new Socom, just doesn't feel like a Socom game to me.

No offense at all but it just seems you're the type of FPS gamer that they were targeting and they succeeded. To say they shouldn't have gone back to their roots because "been there done that," is a huge shame. To go back and do what Socom does best would be to be different than every other shooter on the market. You really want all your FPS' to be the same, because that's what they are becoming.

I don't think I ever came across wide spread cheating and freezing with Confrontation. Socom4 was a huge let down. There is literally nothing that reminds me if Socom in that game. They tried way too hard to make it more mainstream and bring in the COD players while at the same time polarizing their fan base.

I'm glad I didn't uninstall Confrontation, as I will be playing that for a long time it seems.

Agreed. I purchased Socom 4 and had it for about 2 weeks and just could not get into it. I liked Confrontation more than S4. I don`t like that they keep getting away from the things that made Socom such a great series early on.

Confrontations player movement is Just AWFUL...feels like your player is walking on the moon oh and BTW i've played every socom game since the series started and i can honestly say i enjoy this game....

The old socoms and even what they call clasic mode just doesnt have the same appeal to me as it did back then...

Good thing you didnt uninstall it...that game takes about an hour to re install

Confrontation was quite possibly one of the worst games i have ever played...I dont care how true it stays to feel more like "socom"...Player movement is jst horrible

I'm not saying Confrontation was perfect to classic Socom, but there is no dispute it is closer to old Socom games than Socom 4.

But in all seriousness, Confrontation lacked the Zipper stamping on it. While it kept the same control and schematics, it still lost its feel. SOCOM 4, meanwhile, was a pretty decent game (or at least the beta that I played), but it subsidized its original SOCOM goodies to try and meet halfway between what it used to be, and what COD is now.

I don't know if they plan on making another one again after suffering some losses the last two iterations, but if they did, I wish they went back to classic. I don't even care if they make a downloadable SOCOM II HD, just get something back out there for the people who play traditional SOCOM.

Are the Socom 2 servers still up? I played like 6 months ago(I think) and they still were. About 500 people on. Just wish I had a mic. Only bad thing was even after turning my settings up it was a lot darker then I remember. I went from playing on a 13'' CRT to a 42" plasma on component cables(on ps2).

I just avoided dark maps. It of course wasn't the same, but if I had a mic and could hear it would have been pretty close. That game is still so much fun. I know I am preaching to the choir, but man if we took all the fanboys of every game there is no way people cherish their game more the S2 players.

Every game has these things. It's not like it's so often, that I need to jump into every room with worry that I'm going to run into one of these clowns. Half of the time, I wouldn't even notice it anyway. I'm not much for concern about what other people do in a re-spawn match. If it was Team Deathmatch without re-spawn, I might take notice of it. If so, they'll be voted out (unless God mode prevents that) or I'll just leave the room.
