    Re: SOCOM 4

I have been playing sp mainly to get used to the game and controls and enjoy it quite a bit. Been playing on hard and getting killed quite a bit not complaining as I like the challenge. I played one game of suppression online and went 7-11 which is better than I thought I'd do starting out. Just have to get the sensitivity to my liking which is trial and error for awhile and learn the maps. Glad to see the camera improved for online which is a bit further back and a wider view. Won't be on much tonight as the NHL playoffs occupy much of my times these days.

Just had my best rd on Suppression using the SS/Move 20-14-3 I truly believe in a gun battle of distance the SS is the way to go at this.

I also noticed if I am patient and "Creep Around" I have way more success

Anybody else Pro Code not download. I scratched off the back of the instruction manual and typed in the code to download the Socom pro. When i went to download it, the PS store backed me out and now I can't re-enter my code and it won't show up in my recent history either. So the code has been used and i still wasn't able to download it.

          Any tips?

Edit: same thing I just asked about. Do we have to wait until Zipper activates it or something?

I have no idea. It should work unless Zipper has to activate it.

Purchasers of new copies of Sony's shooter will get free access to special game types, weapons; preowned buyers will have to pay $15.

Now, Sony is getting into the one-time use code game. Via the PlayStation Blog, the publisher revealed that its shooter SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs, which was released today, will come with a code to access an option called "SOCOM Pro." Anyone picking up a used copy of the game will have to pay $15 on the PlayStation Store to get their own code, effective April 26.

What exactly is SOCOM Pro? According to developer Zipper Interactive, the special option will offer exclusive multiplayer maps, various co-op additions, dedicated leaderboards, and more options down the line. However, at launch, it will offer access to a several custom game queues, which will be ranked. The queues will be "regularly" updated with content, including various custom game types only available through SOCOM Pro. The first batch of custom game types include:

--Community Day Classic, which features variations on the Suppression, Uplink, Last Defense and Bomb Squad game types with increased movement and zero ranged explosives.

--Last Defense Run 'n Gun, which reduces the Last Defense gametype's arsenal to submachine guns and shotguns only, increases player movement rates, and decreases weapon damage.

--SCRUM, a Suppression variation with a strict set of rules: no respawn, no sniper rifles, no grenades, higher damage, and faster character movement.

--Sniper Alley, an 8-vs-8 Suppression mod which also boasts higher damage but a severly limited arsenal featuring sniper rifles first and foremost.

In addition to the specialized game types, SOCOM Pro will also offer players exclusive weapons. The first two will be the AK-47 (for Insurgents) and the M-16 (for Spec-Ops).

I really like the game. Nice to play on some different maps than the demo.

Ya, I played a few games on abandoned last night and enjoyed it. I'm just not sure if it can hold my interest for very long without the old game modes. I still feel like it sprays to much in "hip-fire", don't want to run around and have to hit L1 to kill someone.

Can't wait to jump into SP on hard after work tonight.

I got past the first mission last night and I will have to say that Zipper really has done a good job here with the SP component. Based on Flight's comments, it gets better with the levels so that should be fun. This game reminds me a lot of Gears and SC:Conviction with the cover system.
