Anyone got any suggestions? And before you say "practice", I get that part of it. Im asking more for how other people play with the 360 controller, maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

MWF 2 Going from PC to Xbox 360? Aim pain!
So I play PC and Console games. Naturally I buy my FPS on PC but all the guys at my job play on 360 and I just find it to be more fun when I can come into the office the next day and trash talk to my co-workers...however there is a problem... I'm in no way shape or form in any position to trash talk to my friends at work because I suck at the 360 version lol. I can get 25+ kills in my sleep on the PC version but the controls and aiming is such a pain to me on the 360 version right now. I was wondering if anyone else has tried to make the transition, even if not and youre a 360 version player, do you mess with your controller sensitivity? If so what settings? I always find that by the time I can get my sights on my target, im already laying on my a$$ with a bunch of buckshot in my face.
Anyone got any suggestions? And before you say "practice", I get that part of it. Im asking more for how other people play with the 360 controller, maybe I'm just doing something wrong.__________________________________________________ ____

I get that part, but Im wanting to play it on my 360. I already have it for both so when Im asking for a forumula, im more or less asking what settings people are using to get aiming better on the 360 or consolve version of MW2 in general.__________________________________________________ ____

Ceaser, it is frustrating. BIG TIME! I've been a PC gamer most of my life and it seems nowadays everyone has a console, so learning a controller is more of the norm these days. I'm without question top 3 in just about any FPS with a mouse and keyboard, 360, not so much but lately I've been improving.
The biggest problem for me is the lack of precision using an analog stick instead of a mouse. For instance if my target is slightly left of my crosshairs I tend to strafe my target into the crosshairs rather than actually aiming my rifle to it. I hope that makes sense. The little miniscule movements suck with a controller in my opinion. I also tend to increase the sensitivity slightly higher than what is set as the default for most FPS's.
I don't think there are any real secrets to it. You just need to learn the sticks. It just seems most of the kiddies these days grow up with a controller in their hands instead of old school gaming with a mouse and keyboard therefore we're get our asses handed to us.Comment

I'd say first, go into custom and set your controller sensitivity to at least 4. Any lower and you tend to lose that "twitch" and can't look or turn around fast enough. I'd say maybe even move up to 5 if it's not too fast for you. I tried 6 and while I liked that looking down the sights, you could move from target to target faster, it was a little too loose for me otherwise.Comment

Yeah change the sensitivity as topdog suggested....it helps a lot and have auto aim on
I have bad company 2 for both pc and 360 and I had a bit of a problem playing the sticks but once you get comfortable you should able to hold your own
Also there's no better feeling than sneaking up on a buddy and knifing himthat's what makes playing on 360 so appealing compared to the pc where I just play with a bunch of randoms..

I had no idea what MWF meant.. I had to google it.. I'm not even sure why you'd abbreviate it like that since Fare isn't a seperate word.. MW2 on console is not bad at all. Someone that is good with the sticks is just as good as someone with a mouse. Mouse usage is overrated anyways unless you're playing on high sensitivity.Comment

you just need to practice. the higher you can put your sensitivity up the more of an advantage you can get. thats really all there is to it. And /yawn at crying bout PC fps controlsComment

there are also stick extenders which might help you. I don't have them, but it helps people make finer adjustments because the longer sticks increase the range of motion.
Another tip is oddly enough to play a bit of BC2 - imo it's so much slower paced and harder to see enemies that when I played some mw2 last night, I was cleaning up because I was recognizing enemies faster and playing at a smarter pace.
People often suck at cod games because they keep making the same mistake and rushing into open areas - maybe because you're not having the success you're used to, you may find yourself doing stupid things you wouldn't normally do? ... idon't know. Another thought is the enemies (people) may play very differently on consoles...you can even see a huge difference how people play on different game modes (hardcore), so learning what ot expect may help as well.
As far as sensitivity, I used to go low, but no it's above default - there is no one answer because I've had lots of success at both and each person is different. If you're having trouble making minor adjustments though, slower sensitivity may hellp you.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: MWF 2 Going from PC to Xbox 360? Aim pain!
I used to be a PC gamer but made the Console switch(it was a financial decision), Personally I think that playing FPSers on a gamepad requires more skill, its a hell of alot easier to aim with a Mouse.
It took some time but the 360 pad feels natural. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

The more precision I can get into my right thump, the better I will get, so practice, and patience are importantComment
