I'm thinking about picking this up through Goozex now. So you all would stay away from the GoTY edition? The regular edition is only 400 points. And it's available now. So you all are saying it's definitely a worthy pickup?

    Regular Edition 400 pts
    Limited Edition 750 pts
    GoTY Edition 1000 pts

    Which one?

i would go with the GOTY edition. from my understanding, the GOTY edition gives you all the DLC content in the game vs. having to pay for it seperatley. LOVING the game so far!!!! and that is coming from a guy who plays mainly sports titles!

True but someone said that the GOTY edition has a lot of bugs etc...
If it doesn't then yes it would make sense to get it.

I would say go with the regular edition and then just buy the brotherhood of steel dlc and one other one I can't remember the name of, it's supposed to be kind of creepy. I've heard those two are the best of the dlc

well i did some google research and found many, many people have complaints against the GOTY edition. kinda pisses me off that i didn't really hear or read about the bugs before i purchased the game! guess i will play what i can and go from there. so far, so good... no bugs or freezing yet!

from the sounds of it, the freezing and bugs are popping up in the DLC. such a bummer!!

Re: looking to buy a game... need some help/advice!

I've had both the GOTY and the regular edition and both have their share of bugs. None are gamekilling, but save your game often. It sucks traveling across the Wasteland and having your game freeze up on you.

This is a great game but it isn't the smoothest game on the market. It has a lot of minor hiccups (ex: when you go into VATS it freezes up for a few seconds) and some graphic issues I've come across but still this is the best PS3 game I've played yet.

                    Enjoy it!

From what I've read, the problems are directly correlative to the size of the save file, and the longer you play, the bigger the save file.

Like I said above, some have claimed not to have any issues, so hopefully you'll get lucky, but I even exchanged the game twice and saw the same garbage on all three copies - it's just a crap piece of software that Bethesda hasn't even bothered with a response about, let alone a patch.

Game should have been recalled; Bethesda is stealing from people. That's how strongly I feel about it, personally. But, again, good luck with your copy.

Oblivion was just as buggy. Makes me wonder how they can be allowed to get away with it.

I'm the same as you, never having been into these rpg games. I decided to try out fallout 3 a couple months ago through goozex when it was 450 points. I played it for a couple hours and still just couldn't get into and so I just ended up trading it back in a month. So while you may like the game like everyone else is saying, your original gut instinct might be correct also.

On the original topic though, batman AA was my second favorite game last year next to uncharted 2. Batman was the reason I tried fallout, because never having played action games, and loving batman so much, I decided to try out the open ended rpg genre.

I'm thinking about going with Sabotuer as it's available now. I just can't pull the trigger on Fallout. It's between Sabotuer, and Resident Evil 5, as those are the two that's available.

I'm thinking about resident evil 5 and Tombraider. I'm intrigued by Tombraider just because it's similar to Uncharted 2.
