With Hollywood making all these remakes, I wish that Kojima would remake MGS1. I could imagine how beautiful it would look this gen. I should pickup the Cube remake to play on my kids Wii.

Splinter Cell I enjoyed the most. Thief was great too though. Never got into Metal Gear at all. Just didn't find it fun at all.

Tenchu was awesome... on the PS. The 360 game was pretty bad and left much to be desired.

For me it's Hitman even though we haven't had a true next gen Hitman game yet.

Next in line is the SC series. I've always liked the SC story arc over the MGS one.

MGS was pretty good for stealth but the enemies couldn't see very far.

Tenchu was fun but not polished.

lol...Splinter Cell is laughable for the green light, but Metal Gear gets a pass on the cardboard box?

Jokes aside, they all have their inconsistencies for sure. I like how in the current Splinter Cell you can't shoot out a lot of the lights in the final missions...apparently 3rd Echelon and Black Arrow's flood lights are just that good.

I voted for Splinter Cell as I felt it offered the users more options for stealth play. I enjoyed MG and Hitman a lot though. I remember choking out the postman with the wire in the opening sequence of the original Hitman and thinking "This will be awesome!"

            Never played Thief.

                  Re: Best stealth based series

I liked Splinter Cell. Had some good times playing late at night (stealth games are always better at night, much easier to see because it's usually dark.)

But, might not be the best, my personal favorite is without a doubt Hitman.

                      PS1 all the way

If you want to replay it, the best way might be through the Twin Snakes remake on GC/Wii.

MGS. Although, I can't even finish playing MGS 4 because it doesn't even feel like the MGS 1, 2, and 3. I was disappointed in 4.

Lol I can't finish it either man, it's crazy. I keep planning to, but when it gets to the point I am about to put it in, I just look for something else to do.
