There are several things I LIKE about the game but here a few that I don't which really puts a hamper on it:
Subpar Graphics Compared to MW2
MW2 was the first multiplayer shooting game I've played, granted, but this game engine was not utilized as Black Ops looks a little more "arcadey" than MW2.
- Player specifics such as the hands, "knifing animation" aren't as prestine
- Nuketown in a lot of ways seems cartoony (especially the manakin things)
- "Explosions" in MW2 was more realistic
- Cars blew up (not as much on BO -- the buses on Nuketown do nothing)
- Difficult to see claymore mines (it's a lot easier to see enemy claymores)
I feel that the shooting system was a lot better in MW2 because when stopping power was removed, assault rifles were powerful and good for close/medium range, machine guns for close combat and sniping was great. But...
- Assault rifles in a lot of ways seem useless. LMGs/SMGs have more accuracy and are simply a better gun in all phases.
- Additionally, I have a 49" plasma TV that I sit 5 feet away from yet I can't see an enemy to shoot him 30 feet away. (such as the space between houses in Nuketown).
- Long shots are extremly difficult (not even mentioning sniping)
This is my humble opinion, take it for what it's worth.
