Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops

I don't mind prestiging at all at this point. I'm halfway through prestige #4 and while it sucks to lose everything I mostly play HC TDM 99% of the time. So now I actually use the M16 all the way up until I unlock the Commando on Level 44 now, from that point on I split time between the two depending on the map I'm on.

I was almost 1000 kills down when I started to play HC TDM religiously, and now I'm all the way back to only needing 90 more kills than deaths to be positive. I can't play TDM worth a lick anymore, it angers me far too much to get the jump on someone, only to have them turn around and spray me down.

The reason I even consider prestiging is for the extra Class Slots. If you're like me and you play multiple different game modes, and switch up your play style even 5-6 classes is not enough. I like to have 1-2 rushing classes, 2 long range classes, a silenced stealth class for flanking, a class for search, for Dom, for Demolition..etc.

I pretty much have all the Pro Perks I need right now.. Ghost, Lightweight, Sleight of Hand, Ninja, Hacker, Warlord, got Tactical Mask today... right now I'm working on Steady Aim (just need about 40 more hipfire kills) and Marathon Pro. So I've been rushing around in Cap the Flag mode.

Then it's just dealing with using the Galil/Famas until I get my Commando back. Never prestiging again.

And I'm getting better I think, mainly play FFA and TDM and have a .88 K/D. I play objectives sometimes, Search and Destroy was kinda fun (didn't think I'd like the no respawning till the next round)
I agree as their just isn't enough incentive to prestige. Now if their were other weapons or perks that you could only achieve through prestiging then it might be worth it. For me I just enjoy playing the game as I don't really care about leaderboards, K/D ratio, trophies etc. As I am an older gamer I played games back in the day when the game was the incentive enough not what was around it.

I like prestige cause it mixes up the game for me and makes me use weapons I don't normally use. also I'm sure i'd have a better k/d then 1.73 or w/e it is but when i get to level 50 it just seems too easy. Obviously thats what your building for but at the same time the game loses fun to me when i have all the weapons and there's nothing to unlock. To each their own, but prestigeing is fun to me, i guess it "make('s) the game feel new and rewarding again"

how the hell are you so good?? I wish I had the game for the 360 and checked your videos and see what you do... I'm sure you have good reflexes and that's half of it, but I'm sure your approach is the other half.

Do you play exclusively team deathmatch ??

Half the Game IMO is map knowledge, and understanding how the UAV works. Once you know the tight areas of the map and how to work them, and check the danger zones that will increasingly boost your KDR, and if you can be situationally aware of your surroundings (picking up little noises like footsteps coming around a corner, or someone reloading, seeing a skull pop up around you, keeping track of where your teammates are and are not) You will be an exceptional player.

However you have to have some kind of ability on the sticks with reaction, and trigger discipline... knowing the enemy is coming is half the battle, being able to kill him is the other half. If you just spray, or panic in situations you will most likely lose most of your 1-1 gun fights.

I'm thinking about doing it once, just for the extra class slot as I want a sniper class, but also want to keep my M14 class.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops

Last night I started using the Stoner with extended mags and reflex scope with Ghost Pro and Warlord Pro. I am loving that gun right now. Had some great games last night, but was on some TERRIBLE teams. Our team would get beat 4500-7500 and I would be the only one on the positive side of 1. Most of the time, I was at about 1.5+ and everyone else on my team would be sub-0.40. Had a couple Level 9 guys on my team that just sat in bushes most of the game while it seemed like I was the only guy trying.

I'm running around Firing Range watching corners, knowing to look for guys hiding in the doorways of that shed in the corner, looking for guys in the towers, and then I run up on my teammates just sitting on a corner watching open space. Argh!!

Then, the next map on WMD, Mr. Level 9 is just slowly following me around...so frustrating. Finally, I get put on the team opposite Mr. Level 9 on Array, and I just hunt him down like an animal.

Finally hit Level 50 last night....and if I prestige, it's going to be a while. I think I'm going to try out some gun and class combos first since I can.

Playing on Jungle earlier and I was tearing **** up. I check the score and I was 19-4. Then I look at the overall score and we are losing 2600-2500. I was like WTF! We ended up losing 6200-3300 and I had 21 of the 33 kills.

                            I hate that.

I had a kill try and call me out there other day, saying my K/D was fake cause my win-loss ratio is only like 1.18, so I must quit out or something. My response was - "When you quit, you keep that K/D, and two it's because while I do well my team is terrible and I always lose."

Yea, unless you roll with the same crew on there everyday, having a high K/D probably leads to an average win/loss ratio just because you get placed on the worse team after that. Stupid people.

Also I prestiged, and everthing seems just awful compared to what I had. I'm only going to buy what I know I'll use though and save up my credits till its available. Except I will buy all 3 sniper rifles and all of the assault rifles. I liked the Kiparis (special SMG), but I can't use a gun with a 20 bullet magazine.

I may never prestige again either. It's just too much of a struggle waiting until level 30 to unlock the Strela-3 launcher so I can destroy 30 enemey aircraft to unlock Ghost Pro. In the meantime though using Flak Jacket in its place has worked out pretty well since I play mostly Demolition.
