Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
Cool man. Thanks for the tips.
Sadly, this isn't my first COD, but I don't usually multiplayer all that much. I'm just recently getting into that aspect of the game, so I'm starting appreciate that nothing from the single player carries over at all (in terms of skills/strategies).

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
Spoiler
1) Executive Order...I seriously considered lowering the difficulty at that hallway portion where you have to get to the locker room before the checkpoint registers. And it didn't even register the first time I finally made it there...
2) Defend Khe Sahn - almost lost a TV and controller on that one. Just piss-poor level and mission design. Basically, it comes down to getting lucky - you hit "x" and hope that your character's "stab the barrel" animation happens quickly enough so that you can get turn around and get back to cover before the enemy 1-hit headshots you by blind-firing from around the corner of a building. Maddening.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
I beat it on Veteran as well, but for me it wasn't easy...very frustrating. But you are right, most of the frustration came from 2 particular parts for me, and I bet I can guess which parts you are referring to....

Spoiler
1) The part on the Kawloon level where you see those civilians run out... that took me FOREVER to get passed.
2) Same thing as you... that part was frustrating.
3) That hallway on the second mission where at the end the smoke comes out by the door and 5 guys come and kill you right away... very annoying
Sorry It's been awhile since I've done campaign so I forget the level names.
Everything else was relatively easy. Sure I might've died a few times on a few parts, but there was no part other than the parts mentioned in the spoilers, that I had to sit there for hours to complete.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
One more thought that occurred to me (while waiting out this interminable NFC Championship Game halftime....):
I feel like the matchmaking just sets beginners up for failure...surely there's a way for the game to try to put you into a lobby with the most number of players with similar levels (like Halo)? I'm sure there are people like me that are still like level 8 or 9 that are starting out, but I'm constantly in games with nothing but level 50+ players, and it just seems pointless because I get popped 80 times before I even get 2 steps into the map. It just seems to me that it would make for better/more enjoyable games if the players are essentially equally matched (or at least as much as possible). I wish it were at least an option...
P.S...I know this was touched on prior, but I'm on a hardwired cable modem, and I finally (FINALLY!!!) had a nice game the other night where I got on a good 7-8 killstreak and called in all this awesome air support, and what do you know? Host migrates, I get dropped, none of it counts...now it'll be another month before I get such an awesome streak....Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
I think they should implement a system where it tries to match players in a lobby based on Score per minute, in the game type. So if you're in the 500-600 score per minute range in Domination when you go into that playlist it should try to match you up with players that have similar scores stat wise.
Obviously it wouldn't always be perfect matches because of people that play in parties, but it might be an improvement to give newer players a more level playing field.Minnesota Vikings

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
Damn I came close to besting my 36-0 mark in a match. I went 35-0, I hate this game...a lot due to the annoying connection issues but I can't help but play it from time to time. One thing that really annoys me is when I call my carpet bomb an hide in a house sometimes it still kills me an other times it won't.Comment

I've been having some terrible games recently, I just can't get anything started. By the time I get into any kind of rhythm I'm already too far down to save my K/D for the game or help my team get the win.NFL: Green Bay Packers
