Thanks so much for the invite, kng23rich...I'd love to take you up on that, but I'm on XBox. Too bad cross-platform online games don't exist (at least not in the mainstream) yet...


Was fooling around trying different things last night. Shotgun w/ lightweight+marathon+ninja = fun. I got killed a hell of lot (bad K/D) because you basically have to run right up to guys to blast them, but it is a good time zooming around the map blasting guys with a shotty. Probably woulda helped if I knew the maps better, but still - it was a blast.

Then I tried to be a sniper for while, but man I am terrible with the sniping. A big part of it is that I just don't know where to go to find good sniping perches, which I guess entails just knowing the maps well really well. The other part is that unless someone is camping or running straight in a great wide open, I can never get a shot off before they go into a building or otherwise behind an obstruction. Very tough way to make a living in the game, although the guys that are good at it are frickin' deadly.

How are you running marathon and ninja at the same time when their both Perk 3?

Must have mis-remembered (to quote the venerable Roger Clemens)...I think I was using Marathon, Lightweight, and I can't remember the middle one (the one that lets you fire from the hip better, I think). I posted this a day or two after a long night, so the accuracy of my recollection is certainly suspect...the general idea was intact, though: zoom around and shotgun blast.

It was awesome going against people still using the AK74 with grip and being able to beat them every time without it feeling cheaper.

Anyway, on the "Final Kill Cam" that everyone gets to see, the slow-mo makes the amount of lead I put into the guy look comical - I mean, it's obvious I shot him like 30 more times than necessary, and he was dead long before I emptied out at least 10-15 more rounds into him on the way down. So out of nowhere, I hear some random dude on my team, doing a DEAD-ON Chris Rock voice impersonation, crackle over the headset "DAMN!!! He Musta Done Sump'in!!!! He put $50,000 worth of bullets in his a*s!!!".

Ok this freaking Ghost B.S is starting to really piss me off. People who use this perk are the ONLY people I ever die from 99.9% of the time in this game. They all just camp with their freaking Ak74u garbage in a stupid corner with their stupid claymores or motion sensors all over the place. It's stupid, I hate being on a killstreak only to be killed by on these annoying idiots sitting in a corner. It's stupid, that Tier 1 slot is so unbalanced it isn't even funny and unfortunately there is nothing that can be done to fix it. It's more annoying than the MP40 jug guys or even last stand. I would rather have noob tubes with danger close flying all over the place than have this stupid perk ruin this game. Because in my opinion, it is.

By now everyone should know about the PS3 firmware update 3.56, some more than others. Explained by Sony as a “security update” it’s effects are now being felt by accused modders and hackers. CoD: BlOps hackers are getting hit hardest with a permanent CoD console server ban – many of them have expressed their “innocence” on the Official Ps3 Cod: Black Ops Forums.

How has PS3 network stability been since the patch?

I played for quite a while last night & in only one game I had connection interrupted for like about 3 seconds & then everything played fine. Alot better than last week where I was kicked out of rooms with server timeouts alot.
