Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops

I think the poster was refering to everything that was good from each of those games is now in Black Ops.

As for the game being like MW2 but better, I agree. Think of it this way, MW2 was Black Ops's beta . Everything that went wrong in MW2 has now been fixed in Black Ops with Treyarch's own improvements.

The AI training mode will be good, but the AI will play nothing like humans would. So trying to find the best spots to hide/camp won't be effective against bots. I would just use it too fool around in or if my internet was screwed up, I could go in there and have some fun.
Does that mean that IW possibly didn't make MW2..? Conspiracy theory? Only kidding, but you make a good point in saying it is pretty much Black Ops's beta.

My one wish is that little kids/idiots/noobs really struggle to do all of the annoying things like noob tubing or this no/quick scoping thing. Resulting in the end of it all. But that won't happen. If anything it will hopefully just be on a smaller scale.

That CTF video was great, I can't wait to get my hands on this game. I've been playing MW2 more lately, but I can't wait for the new experience in Black Ops.

That's exactly what I meant haha...What I loved the most is that the video reminded me more of COD 4's multiplayer than the hectic RPG, Noobtube, and OMA spam fest that was MW2. After looking at the perks, it seems that this game appears to be balanced, but it only takes one exploit/hacker to ruin the fun. Hopefully Treyarch is better with the community than IW was, because it seems like after the second map pack was released they abandoned the game

Pretty much. Black Ops looks promising. But there is always that one thing that makes the game terribly unbalanced... wonder what Black Ops's "thing" is going to be?

I'm kind of mixed on this, and the MW games in general. I think they make a seriously beautiful game, from the guns, to the maps, to the animations, it looks great. It has its fun aspects, but for me it turns boring pretty fast. I loathed both MW and MW2 after like, maybe a month of it. And....

...that right there is why. There's SO many ways to exploit their gameplay, and IF seemingly wants players to do this, making the online experience as miserable as possible. When the game is essentially just a handful of people running around knifing you, or hitting you with one-shot kills from across the map with shotguns, it ruins it. The maps/spawning are another huge put-off for me. The maps are too small and cramped, while the spawning is downright horrible.

I prefer team-objective based gameplay for my online shooters. MAG is the best I've played in a while, in my opinion, while BC2 is up there as well. COD isn't about the same things those games are about, it's just about spamming kills and getting killstreaks. That can be fun and everything, but it loses its appeal for me pretty fast.

This is exactly where my mind is at right now. I will most likely buy Black Op's, but I won't be playing for long amounts of time. I could play BFBC2 for ages with my friend. In that game it felt like each person in your team had a responsibility or an individual objective, so it was a team effort all around. Same goes for MAG as well, unfortunately I never purchased it, but the Beta was insanely fun.

You do realize IW was cannibalized even before the final map pack right?

While I'm really excited for this game, I think the biggest downfall and issue with the game will be the COD Points. The fact you can use real world money, doubled with the fact there will be a hack out within days of release leads me to believe this will be one giant CF.

Have they ever confirmed that you can buy COD points? I thought that was just a rumor?

If they do that it would be the biggest mistake they could ever make. What would be the purpose of the gambling matches if you could just buy the points? That would be like blowing their own leg off.

I haven't heard anything about this. If it's true, this would be an even bigger mistake than everything that was in Modern Warfare 2.

If this is true and you can buy points then I might consider canceling my purchase of this game. That would be terrible. I really hope it's just a rumor.
