God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PSP)

Surprised this wasn't posted yet, but sounds very cool.

    http://kotaku.com/5530564/god-of-war-returns-to-the-psp

God of War: Ghost of Sparta is headed to the Playstation Portable later this year and the best part, it's being developed by the folks who made the first, fantastic God of War PSP title.

The title will be a collaborative effort between Ready at Dawn, who developed God of War: Chains of Olympus, and Sony Computer Entertainment's Santa Monica Studio.

"Excitement for the God of War franchise is at an all-time high and we're thrilled to continue that momentum with God of War: Ghost of Sparta," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president, product marketing, SCEA. "This new adventure will showcase Kratos on PSP like never before in an experience that fans and newcomers can enjoy on the go, anytime, anywhere."

Set in the realm of Greek mythology, God of War: Ghost of Sparta is a single-player game has players once more take on the role of Spartan warrior Kratos. This new adventure picks up after the original God of War concludes, telling the story of Kratos' ascension to power as the God of War. In his quest to rid himself of the nightmares that haunt him, Kratos must embark on a journey that will reveal the origins of lost worlds, and finally answer long-awaited questions about his tattoo, scar and family. Armed with the deadly chained Blades of Chaos, he will have to overcome armies of mythological monsters, legions of undead soldiers, and amazingly dangerous and brutal landscapes throughout his merciless quest.

The developers say they have "made significant strides to give players a realistic feel that has never been seen before on PSP or any other portable platform." The game showcases higher quality environments and characters, giving an unmistakable realism to Kratos' newest quest, they say.

The game will have more than 25 percent more gameplay than God of War: Chains of Olympus, according to the release.

The game will also have a new weapon system, new magical powers, weapons and navigational abilities, many more enemies on screen, and a greater number of boss encounters, truly bringing the experience to life, all while on the go.

This PSP looks kind of goofy........the other items that come with this are a great deal.

All that for 200 really is a steal. The first GoW for PSP was an incredible game.

The first GOW PSP game was freaking fantastic so this one should be just as good.

Play as Deimos in GoW III when you preorder Ghost of Sparta

Chances are if you grew up in the same household as Kratos, you probably developed thick skin at a young age. In the latest trailer for God of War: Ghost of Sparta, we see our favorite God-killer in true torment.

In case you needed even more reasons to pick up the upcoming PSP-exclusive GoW game, Sony revealed today that specially marked boxes of the game will include an exclusive downloadable voucher for the Deimos Skin for God of War III on the PlayStation 3.

Deimos is Kratos’s brother, and apparently he had his hands full growing up alongside his dangerous brother. This God of War III skin will provide enhanced combat damage and the ability to receive four times the amount of health, magic and god orbs.

All of the two-tone Entertainment Packs will include the vouchers, along with the Ultimate Pre-Order bundle. Look for the latest story in the **** journey of Kratos when it launches on Nov. 2 in the US and Nov. 11 in the UK.

                http://psp.ign.com/articles/112/1129918p2.html = 9.5

Unbelievably, the developers at Ready at Dawn managed to top what they did with Chains of Olympus, delivering a longer, deeper, and more graphically beautiful game than even they thought was originally possible. Ghost of Sparta is, without a doubt, one of the best games available for the PSP. Just when I thought I had Kratos figured out, I’ve been given insight into another piece of his past that makes his anger much more understandable. The path less traveled as far as characters and locations makes Ghost of Sparta a very significant chapter in Kratos’ story. There’s nothing hugely different about the gameplay, but there really didn’t need to be. Combat works perfectly, and while I could have stood a bit more challenge in the puzzle department, that’s basically the same as saying I could have used a bit more chocolate sauce on my totally awesome delicious dessert.

Mine was shipped out today from Amazon, I will be getting it probbaly tomorrow or Monday.

But from all the videos and reviews I have read, it seems every bit as awesome as the PS3 GoW3 and better than Chains.

Basically they are saying the best game on the PSP graphically and gameplay/story.

Some of the pictures and video I seen had my jaw dropped and me rubbing my eyes to make sure it was a PSP I was looking. The scope in it is impressive.

It looks impressive from everything I have seen and it is getting about 10 hours worth of gameplay. The Go is on sale this weekend at BB for $149, so I might be jumping on that to play this and a few others that I missed out on. Plus I need to take advantage of all those free PS1 classics and PS minis I have for free being a PS+ member.

Sounds like a good way to go. If you don't already have a PSP, and not worried about UMD cause of it, I would be all over the Go for that price.

Not interested in this one (not much of a GoW fan, never have been), but it's great to see several high-quality PSP titles that have been released this year. Gives me hope that developers will still continue supporting the system.

All the better if this game is a system-seller (and given this time of year, it very well could be)
