    Re: Mortal Kombat

I might as well go trade in MvC and maybe SSF4 because I don't see myself playing them anytime soon. MK was always my favorite fighting game until they started making all the 3D fighters and I soured on most fighting games aside from Soul Caliber, until SFIV came out. This is by far my favorite current gen fighting game though. I just love all the MK characters and the story behind them.

The story mode has been excellent so far, best I have ever seen in a fighting game. I love how you just jump in and out of fights. Probably will only play through it once but I heard its 6-7 hours to get through it which is plenty long. Haven't tried out online yet, but I did play a ton of local multiplayer the past 4 hours with my buddies who love MK. Tried out the tag mode and I can already see that if you can get good enough you can pull off some nasty tag combos. Definitely a lot less hectic than MvC3, but that's a good thing for me.

For anyone who is still on the fence, if you liked MK2 or UMK3 you pretty much need to buy this game, even if you don't like fighting games anymore. The nostalgia alone makes it worth it, but the game is pretty awesome too.

This is so true. This game is great from a graphics and gameplay stand point, but the nostalgia factor is ridiculously amazing.

I haven't gotten very fair at all in story mode, buy Johnny Cage has easily become my favorite cinematic character.

This is exactly how I feel. I have not been a fan of fighters really since MK2. And this game just brings all that joy back!

What's the purpose of being able to hit L2 and change our stance in this game? Does it alter the combos or anything?

Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

Story Mode has you playing from each character's perspective as it progresses.

The main story mode follows along a set story, letting you play different characters in each chapter. You start as Johnny Cage, move to Sonya, and so on.

There's a separate single player arcade mode which just has you fight guys and at the end you get a character specific ending like in old MK or Street Fighter games.

He's good against people that need to get in close to be effective but don't have a good enough move to do so. Sonya for example would have trouble whereas Scorpion,Sektor or Kung Lao would mop the floor with him.

                              This.

                              I hate Scorpion.

Stryker has some great moves though. Im trying to figure out a goos strategy for comboing into his XRAY.
