You're getting the 360 version when you have a ps3? What made you pick the 360? Kratos is reason enough to get the ps3 version. Just curious to why you picked that one.

Damn you guys! I was all set to just let this pass now i'm 99% sure i'm jumping on the MK bandwagon once again. OS strikes again!

I haven't truly loved a fighting games since the orginal MK and SF2 (SFIV was pretty good but i lost interest pretty quickly) so I'm looking forward to the nostalgic trip down memory lane.

I still haven't cracked open my copy yet. Been thinking hard about it though....

My friend picked it up with credit from Battlefield, halo and fallout trade in credit.

We chose 360 even when we have a PS3 as well.

It's very good fun to play but only if ya into Fighters. However there are tons of unlocks.

I mean ya got it free so I would say go for it and at least try it, if ya don't want to you could probably get a pretty good amount on eBay for a unopened copy.

HOLY **** the last battle with Shao Kahn is the cheapest fight I have EVER played in a fighting game. It took me a good hour-and-a-half to beat him. Wow.

All you had to do was <- -> LK then jump back. He'll just keep taunting and you hit him with it again as he can't block while taunting and it goes all the way across the screen.

Just spent the last 5 hours playing this with my boy. We tried every character and so far I'm loving Cyrax with Sonya in a close second. Some of the fatalities are straight up ridiculous (yes Sonya I'm looking at you), but I love every minute of them.

The lag in our matches was inevitable (He's in Cali, I'm in NY) but it was consistent so we were able to cope. It was definitely playable (you don't spend 5 hours playing something that isn't), not tournament worthy but up to par with the other fighters on there.

Most of the online complaints seem to be about how everyone is using Scorpion and spamming the spear. Which means they're doing it horribly wrong.

I think adding a longer cooldown time would combat this. I mean Kombat this. Also all the 360 people are missing out. You can not like the God of War series but you can't hate him in MK. Also hate that they changed Liu Kangs bicycle kick command. But its probably for all the people that would start every match it. I would lol.

I beg to differ. I got the 360 version directly due to the lack of Kratos in it, and I'm not afraid to admit it. I can't stand him. It's nothing against guest characters, but Boon and co. talk about Kratos like he IS an MK character.

Side note:

I've been playing this game literally since 10:10am 4/19, it's now 5:37am 4/20 and I only just stopped an hour ago. I have most of story done, about 50 challenges done, and most of the alts/fatalities unlocked. Yes.

For someone like me who's not a big MK fan, I mean I loved 1 and 2 in the arcades and would play them just about every night, but it's been ages. And I felt the MK series went through way too many changes and transformations over the last 6-7 iterations to where I didn't even care about it anymore.

Broke down to get this due to that earlier feed and the glowing reviews of it being a throw back to the original games. So happy I picked it up, awesome, awesome fighter. It's really cool to see this genre coming back so hard with the Street Fighter IV release, MvC3 release, and now MK. Gotta love it!

I'm about as big a fighting gamer as I am a sports gamer (used to be more into fighting until Madden 03), and I can definitely say from experience that...

Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat needs to happen within the next two years. It's really what people want to see. Settle the debate once and for all. MK9 vs. SSF4 (well, you can cut out some of the SF Alpha/new SF4 characters IMO)...That game would literally go down as the best selling fighter of all time if they were to capitalize on the success of both series' revitalizations.

BTW, the Tournament Edition stick is HUGE. Literally enormous compared to my SF fight stick. Love it.

I'm in elementary all over again. I'm sitting here in class thinking of how to string combos together and master my favorite character, Scorpion.

Kratos, while not an MK character, def could fit in seamlessly. He fits the mold of one. My virtual man crush on him wins over the MK purist in me.

What DLC can we look forward to?

Also, does this mean MK will now be a development cycle? Or was it one and done?

Ok my 2 friends keep killing me.

One uses Kung Lao and spams his Tele when im at a distance, Hat Throw as well and Spin when I get in close all while holding the Block button the whole time....lol.

The other uses Baraka and spams his Chop Chop attack (Waves his arms real fast) when I get close along with the spin blades and electric blade range attack. He also uses the block button all the time as well.

Any tips guys?

Also are thier Animatalies, Friendships and Brutalities in this game?

I don't know if the guy I was playing online last night wasn't good or I'm better than I thought, but played him 5 times in a row and he was Baraka all 5 times. He didn't get a single win on me and I just kept destroying him. I mainly use Sub Zero since that's who I've always used, but had 3 rounds where I was almost flawless on him as well.
