Just finished the 1st one last night. Forgot how fun these games were. Also got my 1st Platinum trophy last night out of it. It was an easy one to get. Basically just finish the game and get all the codes and you've got a Platinum. Hopefully I will get 3 Platinums from this game.

      Sweet! That's awsome.

I never got around to playing these on the PS2 but I always wanted to. Probably gonna pick this up somewhere down the road.

What are these games like/about? Reminds me a bit of R&C. Are these on the same level as the R&C series.

I'm thinking about giving it a try because it's 30 dollars for 3 games. But, I'm wondering if I would enjoy it or not.

            Here's a brief synopsis:

The main character, Sly Cooper, is a raccoon thief, descended from a long line of thieves. His best friends, from when he was at an orphanage (after his father was killed), are Bentley, a genius computer geek turtle, and Murphy, a brutish, dim, hippo thing.

The first game is about him recovering the pages of The Thievius Raccoonus, the book of secrets his ancestors compiled with all their skills and was stolen by a gang of baddies. The series then builds off of that event.

The first game is basically a straight platform title, with a few mini-game type stages, where you have to collect keys and progress to the boss, of which all five require different methods to defeat.

The second game is a more "open world" style, with different jobs to perform all leading to a big "heist", and you play as the other two characters, while the third game is more action oriented.

Conclusion, they are well worth it. Great games, solid voice acting (generally), interesting story, and the graphical style, animations, quick cut cinematics, and Saturday morning cartoon briefings are extremely well done.

EDIT: Didn't respond to the Ratchet and Clank comparison. In my opinion, all three major trilogies on PS2, Sly, Ratchet, and Jak, are some of the greatest games of that generation. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, but if you liked one, you'll probably like them all (unless you really had a thing for the big gun blasting of R&C).

Yeah, I'm with Johnny in that I think all three of those series fit into particular niches and aren't really THAT comparable.

I always felt like, though, that Sly got the short end of the stick and was overlooked the most of the three -- and it wasn't because of the quality or anything.

Thanks a lot. That was a great rundown, and you answered all of my questions.

I think I'm probably going to give it a try after around/after Christmas.

The GameTrailers Pod review of this mentions Sly never getting the same love as Jak or Ratchet.

I'm loving this collection so far. I have spent the last 1.5 days playing the first Sly and damn is it an addictive game.

These games are great. I've beaten the first one and I'm about to start episode 3 of the second one. So much great gaming on one disc. A part of me is happy I missed out on these the first time.

I have to say I'm pretty happy I didn't play them now that they've been rereleased. I also never played the GOW games. But was happy to buy the new collection because of it!
