    Sid Meier's Civilization V

I don't know if many of you like the series but I have enjoyed it. It seemed to make an impression with IGN at E3, they're saying it looks like one of the best upcoming strategy games. I'm looking forward to it, I thought I would share.

I played Civ 4 quite alot back in the days. I'm not much of a strategy gamer but for some reason this series has always been fun for me. Might end up getting it cause it looks & sounds really good.

This will be the game that finally forces me to buy a new PC.

Me neither... I have a current CIV 4 BTS game going on with some friends now. We usually play for an hour or two one or two nights a week. We are hyped for 5 to come out! I can never get enough civ.

                Re: Sid Meier's Civilization V

One of the greatest games of all time...but it runs like crap on my rig. Disappointing, because the graphics/animations don't really seem all that much better or more complicated. In fact, I don't really like the new "watercolor painting" style of visuals...but I do like that they streamlined some of the (in my opinion) unnecessary complexity. I just never understood how to properly exploit religion in the game (or really what its function in the Civ world was), and the culture boundaries just seemed like a matter of spending more of your budget on non-scientific progress. Also, I'm glad they finally added some real (albeit straightforward) strategy to the combat/seige of cities. I mean, the "stack o' doom" was good for laughs and all, but when a spearman behind some walls somehow takes out my 13-unit stack of catapults, macemen, and knights, it's frustrating to know that there was no better way to attack than to create unholy amounts of armies and deploy them en masse...
