For those in the know, how does it compare to Dragon Quest VIII in terms of having that epic feel?

Finally finished it. Great, massive game, took me around 60 hours. Be warned: make sure you are stocked up well before heading off to the last area. Very rewarding experience.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

Heads up - there's a pretty sizeable amount of post-game content as well. Game's not over after the credits roll.Comment

"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Ni No Kuni(PS3)
I thought I was at the end last night when I got to Nevermore, those battles and resulting cutscenes went on forever. But the story still isn't done. Crazy. Definitely close on finishing the main story now... 51 hours and counting. I sure am glad that I did all the available errands (except 1) before this final stuff, it was nice having that HP and MP boost for Oliver that I picked up with that Merit Card award.

LOL, yeah, it did that to me too. I was in a bad way by the time I hit the place Kev was referring to.
Sounds like Kev will probably finish the main story around the same time I did.Comment

I was going to get Sim City this week but the issues changed my mind so I picked up this game instead... best decision ever. Even if the opening was really heart crushing. Geeeeezus.Comment

I quit grinding a lot too once I got the Dragon and the Travel spell. I did camp out around Perida (?) some though and hunt for a little green monster with a spear that would give me 8000 exp when defeated.

Re: Ni No Kuni(PS3)
I discovered this wasn't my problem, my problem was that I was doing things out of order. I went to glittering grotto first, and actually made it (barely) to the end but the boss would wipe me out quick. So I exited and went to the other bosses first and actually beat those easily, then I went back and was able to wipe the floor with the Grotto.
Now I got the capture merit award and am going to go finish up some of these tasks that require me to get certain creatures.Comment

Re: Ni No Kuni(PS3)
I've been thinking of picking up an RPG but have been debating between this and Tales Of Graces F - which would you guys recommend, considering I probably only have time for one of them (for now anyway). This will be an intro to JRPG games for me considering I've never really played any other than most of the Final Fantasy games and Valkyria Chronicles.Comment
