Just got a new PS3 and I know they have a few great titles on the system. I'm fair game for any recommendations from the beginning of the console until now. This can also be a quick reference for those guys who are interested in picking up some classics they might have overlooked themselves.

I would say the Resistance series and Killzone 2, but a big part of those is the online play, which may be a bit stagnant.

Are we talking only PS3 exclusive here? Because this list could certainly get quite a bit longer if we're talking multiplatform games.
Great lists above as far as exclusives go. If you're into RPG's, particularly Strategy RPG's you might check out Valkyria Chronicles. Great game, though it was released before trophies if that concerns you.Comment

PSN Network games I've enjoyed are Fat Princess and Flower. The network also has some PS1 classics like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy 7,8 and 9 is on the way if it isn't already, been a month or so since I last checked.Comment

hard question. what kind of games are into.
i don't play nearly as many games as these guys do. but if you could only get one game i think uncharted 2 should be it.

Solid games here. My brother-in-law has Demon Souls and told me that game is crazy hard. Also, is the FF7 the **** one that so many people wanted a remake for? I might have to do that. In all honesty, I feel very bad that I didn't get a PS3 sooner. There are very distinct things that really draw me to that system. I appreciate the recommendations. I hope I live long enough to enjoy. I think that LBP will be a great snag for my wife to play too. It could be something to get her back into gaming a little like Kingdom for Keflings did.Comment

Afrika - This is a fairly contentious recommendation. It's not really a game, it's more of a relaxing toy, and it's nowhere near a perfect game, but for what it is I enjoyed it. If you think puttering around Africa taking pictures of animals sounds interesting, then check it out.Comment

Demon's Souls is a great game. It really isn't that hard though, but it's much more challenging than your normal game. After your first playthrough, you will get the hang of it. They key is just to dodge with light equipment on.
I would recommend Uncharted 2 though. The game has a great singleplayer story and even has multiplayer now.Comment

To get into Uncharted 2, should I get the first one? I'm not exactly a completest but I do like getting a grand understanding of stories. I also forgot about Yakuza.
I finally get to see what all the love was about. I think I might holler at Afrika also because my wife could enjoy me playing it. Seems to be more friendly games on the PS3 than 360 from what I see. My wife played probably a total of 2 hours on Viva Pinata. Might edit the first post and drop the games recommended so I can keep a solid tab.......
