Are you sure we need to press a button to spot? I was just looking down my crosshair at a guy and a teammate killed him and I got a "Spot" Bonus or something like that for 10 points.NFL: Bills

If the bugs and glitches have been bothering you all day yesterday, DICE announced today that the beta will receive an update and will fix the most complained issue on the beta.
Below is the list of updates that you should expect when the patch hits your console.
[Update] Seems the patch is now available!
* Fixed occasional client crash when reviving.
* Fixed killcam showing glitched area under map if your killer is dead.
* Issue with spawning on dead squad mates fixed.
* Fixed a bug where shooting at a moving enemy could cause more than the intended amount of damage.
* Crosshairs for shotguns have been replaced with a new, thinner, art.
* A subtle low health screen effect has been added.
* Tweaked scores of Medals and Service Stars.
* Tweaked the Rank progression.
* Pushing prone on console will not play the animation twice.
* Fixed loss of Squad Leader after EOR at some times.
* Framerate stability fixes.
* The 3D spotting icons has been tweaked to better match the target’s visibility. Icons will show frequently less on mostly obscured targets.
* Fixed issue with crosshair disappearing after round transition.
* Fixed issue with crosshair disappearing after trying to deploy while the countdown timer still active.
* Squad list now shows specializations chosen, VOIP activity and dead squad mates.
* Non working options in squad menu fixed: “Private” flag and “Switch Teams.”People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Battlefield 3 Open Beta Server Side Fixes
Adam Barnes
The BF3 beta has been updated to fix many of the issues already found.
Published on Sep 30, 2011
Battlefield 3 beta is underway and - as with all good betas - there are flaws in the game. True to their word, however, DICE has announced its most recent fixes.
Daniel Matros, community manager at DICE, revealed in his latest post on Battlelog that there will be a set of fixes to the Battlefield 3 beta servers. These were set to go live at 9am BST, so should have been implemented now.
Since they're server side fixes, however, you won't need to download a patch, though the beta will be temporarily disabled while the fixes are installed.
These fixes include:
- Terrain deformation has been disabled, due to players using it to get underneath the map. A fix will be in place in time for Battlefield 3's release date.
- Preround has been tweaked, reducing the counter to 10 seconds rather than the longer times previously necessary to wait. Providing 8 players are available in a match, preround will begin to count.
- End-of-round progress reporting to Battlelog has been improved so players' progress can be tracked quicker and easier.
- Additionally, the most common game server crashes reported in the last 48 hours have been fixed.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Battlefield 3
I really am liking this game. Before playing the beta, there was a pretty good chance I was going to buy. Now there's no question.
It took me a bit to get going--I went 0-8 my first game and struggled to find my footing. Now that I'm in the groove, though, I feel a lot better, and I really like the Rush mode.
Surprisingly I got into a team-centric game with a squadron on the PS3. It was the most fun I've ever had playing a MP FPS. I really wish guys would use teamwork more often--I'm largely used to COD, which is basically a run-for-your-life free-for-all. When your squad stacks up in a doorway and pushes forward through enemy lines, there's really no comparison.
For the full version, as Bart Scott would say, "Can't Wait!"Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
I cant wait for the retail and to be able to take advantage of teamwork. Right now I cant get in squads with my friends and get stuck with guys who have no idea how to help the teammates out.
I was completely out of ammo and telling my squad mate with ammo to drop some out for me. He just ignored me. I ran to about 4 different teammates all rolling with a class with ammo and none of them could figure out what I wanted.
I wish the squads worked right for the beta, so me and my friends could get together, but I am still having a ton of fun playing.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights

Re: Battlefield 3
LOL...players weren't using it to get under the map, we simply couldn't help it. It was like I'd be walking along and suddenly fell in a sinkhole.
I suicided anytime it happened to me (a lot yesterday).
