That's what they say, but looking at the games graphics, I doubt it. Even with the settings on low I'd assume you'd still a pretty beefy computer to run it. Maybe I'm underestimating his comp, but even laptops with high end specs tend to run like mid range builds. Basically the smartest thing to do would be to D/L the demo when/if one's released and find out first hand how well it runs.

Re: Battlefield 3
That could be their ulterior motive with the move. The comment from DICE was that Frostbite 2 is so complex that making mod tools would be difficult or too difficult for modders. Not sure which was the excuse, maybe both.
They didn't totally shoot down the idea, just said it wasn't planned as of yet. But like you said, I suspect it's a way to make more money on DLC. I really don't blame DICE though, this is all EA.
DICE has said that you won't need a top of the line computer to play the game. You don't even need DX11 even though there will be incentives to having DX11. A new Macbook Pro is more than decent spec-wise.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
It sure it, But they need to start amping this game up now. Basically this is the game that will take away the Call of Duty Players from Activision, even IF EA spends of ton of dough advertising this game and it breaks even (or even ends up losing money) it will pay for itself down the road and BF will have a much larger fanbase. There are very few gamers out there who have played COD and BF and prefer COD.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

To be honest, I hope Activision starts marketing their November CoD game soon. CoD and BF are two completely different things, with two completely different play styles, and communities... and I hope it stays that way.2006 - present, NY Mets Season Ticket HolderComment

Re: Battlefield 3
Just a little quote from Karl-Magnus Troedsson....the GM of DICE...
"PC is the leading platform, conceptually, for this game, definitely. We are going to make this game on 360 and PS3 as well, [but] we need to scale it down to those platforms. The PC players are going to love to hear that I've said that, but that is fact. The hardware specs on the console, are limited. At the same time , for each iteration on these console platforms we can utilize the power of them better and better, so what we do on the other platforms is going to be amazing, and look much better on the PC, too. There's going to be unique features on the PC version of this game, some of which people are going to be very pleased about. I can't reveal all of them here, but I can reveal that there will be a lot of extra love put into the PC version of this product."
Very nice.
