This is the game, (http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3...0094/2/446453/ ) our 4 man squad were the top 4 scorers and the sniper guy (Onyx) only got 6 kills. He was useless, he was always so far away you couldn't even spawn on him. If he had done ANYTHING we would've won. Nuni was an all-star last night.

Wow...the top guy on their side (and MVP3 for round) was 7-1 but had a ton of points.
Thanks guys!! good times... wow that Operation match was not good lol. Sucks when its 3 people against the whole other team like Koolie said. Dan as soon as I saw u laying down smoke I ran like a bat out of hell towards the Mcom, it was such a crazy scene. That sniper we had on our team really got on my nerves. What's so fun laying down a mile away just trying to snipe the whole entire game? I don't get snipers sometimes.

I usually use suppression for a perk. I don't have squad suppression unlocked yet on PS3.

Always great to see some love for support class.

Being that it can be inaccurate it will blur your opponents screen pretty quickly giving you extra time to get the kill. Also, instead of the extended mag I have been using the ammo that inflicts more damage. The mags are smaller but they pack more punch. Since you are carrying the resupplies you can supply yourself if you run out.

Also, in these clan battles each squad should have squad suppression. It is probably one of the most important to have because it is the most effective squad perk. Just my thoughts.
Yeah, I know the M249 is better but I'm just trying out the other guns. The M240B is more accurate at longer distances I think though

Are you talking about the heavy barrel? It says higher rate ammunition or something but has no effect on damage

I get recon, and players who are skilled at it.

I DON'T get, like you and Koolie are saying, laying back and sniping when we are down two full squads!! Grab an automatic and get in there and get bloody with us, we damn near WON on sheer nerve!! LOL

Snipers definitely have their place, but if you are only gonna get 6 kills in the entire match, then you just suck, plain and simple. Especially on Firestorm when the game lasted 26 mins. That's less than 1 kill every 4 MINUTES! I know I run in to the action a little too much and risk dying, but sitting back and doing nothing the whole match and not helping your team is crazy. I don't think he was using a MAV, so I'm not sure how he scored as many points as he did. If he would have just moved up closer so we could have spawned on him I wouldn't care if he only got 6 kills.

Has anybody been able to make strategic use out of the ability to switch classes mid fight?

There was once I felt like a beast.

I was playing rush, defending on Canals. I started off as assault.

An enemy vehicle rolls up on the ramp. I couldn't do nothing, so I just stayed back and watched as my team lit him up with rockets. Then the driver hops out and I kill him.

Then I thought I'd be slick and take his class since he was an engineer, and repair the tank since it hadn't been fully destroyed. That way we'd have an extra vehicle and they'd be down one for the rest of the match.

So I quickly run over to him and switch. When I go to bring out my torch, out comes out land mines. At first I was disappointed. But then thought I might as well put these babies to use. So I laid a couple down.

Not too long after, I killed a guy who snuck on land somehow. I didn't like the gun that the engineer had, so I switched to the guy I just killed and he was support. And he had C4. Perfect!

So I plant c4 around one Mcom and run off to keep an eye on the other.

                Then I get...

                vehicle destroyed
                Enemy killed
                Enemy killed
                Double kill

Im like how the hell did I get that? Im not even doing any thing. Then it hit me that it was from the mines I planted earlier.

Then "the enemy set the charge." So I detonated and killed 2 more guys. Ran over and defused it. Switched to engineer class again to plant more mines when the charge on the other Mcom was set.

So I just took out my newly acquired rocket launcher and fired a random shot at the other Mcom and killed a guy. Ran over and defused it.

That sequence happened in about 5 minutes. I felt like some sort of super soldier. I was dying with laughter.

Anyways, I was just wondering if you guys have been able to make strategic use out of the ability to switch classes.

Oh for sure they belong, as long as they use their assets. MAV, spotting the enemy , using the spawning becon and providing cover. This guy did not use nothing but snipe lol. I'm the same way Koolie as far as running and gunning, we are like kamakazies out there but without using the planes lol and we usually get the job done!! Hoorah

The spawn beacon is tremendously useful.

The MAV just takes a teammate off the map. It's for suckers.

Disagree. It takes a person off the map, but if used correctly you know the enemy's exact moves, which can be a lot more helpful than another body on the front lines when you don't know where the enemy is

Yeah, didn't hear any MAV's flying around, but we knew all those guys were in the building by the end LOL. That's why I wanted him to move his *** up and storm the building with us. Grrr.

As to the kamikaze thing, I do that a little more than I probably should, and I don't have the stick skills like you guys do to acquire and drop the enemy quickly. I just enjoy being in the thick of things, and especially in Rush when you're attacking you gotta 'go for it.'

Yeah, I think if you know how to use the MAV it's actually really helpful. Why would you not like having all the enemies in front of you spotted for you? I find it to be a great distraction since a lot of times people get worried about you getting the roadkill with the MAV and it takes their mind off the enemies around, if only for a second. I've gotten so many motion sensor kills by floating around a guy's head and he tries to take me out, only to get taken out himself by my team. Although it is fun to run them over when they ignore my constant buzzing around their heads.
