Re: Battlefield 3
I got about 2 hours worth of Close Quarters in today and I am really liking it. Love the new game modes, it's super faced paced and a lot of fun. I can definitely see myself getting board of it and moving back to the larger maps in awhile. But for now this is great, hopefully I'll be able to hop on with the PS3 guys tonight in Dogs Server.
The SPAS is an awesome shotgun btw, just like the 870 just shoots a little faster which is nice in these smaller maps!Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
The maps are ok, its a good change of pace. I'm not feeling scrap metal though. I can't see in there at all. I might need to adjust my tv.
Op 925 is probably my favorite though. Long hallways and a chance to breathe.
Its chaotic. You are always going to be running into an enemy. The usual engagement range is close to dancing with each other. There are a couple of times in the matches where I was next to an enemy but the pace is so frantic we both don't realize we are enemies
The maps range in size from very small, Scrap Metal to medium-small, Op 925. Scrap Metal is a little smaller than a regular TDM map. Lets see, take Nosehair Canals and remove the train tracks in TDM. The Op 925 map is about the size of a TDM map with three levels of it.
I don't know how many rounds in a row I could play them. I end up missing the battlefield feeling of bigger maps and flanking routes. If you like the frantic pace of COD in a BF setting, then you'll love these maps.
The one glitch that needs to be fixed is the Revive glitch. If you get revived and you get killed again, it counts as a death for you and a kill for who ever killed you again. In these maps if you get revived you more than likely going to die twice.Last edited by Chizzypoof; 06-06-2012, 11:22 PM.Comment

I prefer the bigger maps when fellow OSers are online, because I enjoy the teamwork required.
Also, today is probably the most I have spent as MVP 1-3 since I started playing BF3. And I think I just had my best game tonight where I went 16-2 on Wake Island with TMagic, we lost because it was like 11 on 6, but still, it was crazy fun.Last edited by Marino; 06-06-2012, 11:57 PM.Comment

So playing yesterday I realize that whoever said that you cant stack perks, forget who it was, was right. Kind of.
It doesnt work like it used to where a teammates perk would stay with you even if he left the tank or even died. Now the teammate has to be in the tank at all times for you to utilize his perk. So once he leaves the tank, you lose the perk. Realized it playing with Marino when I had on Reactive and he had proximity. He hopped out to go after a guy hiding around a corner and the guy disappeared from the mini map so Marino lost him and got killed. Lol
Then there was another round we played earlier in the day where we were clobbering as well on Caspian. Then I think you got disconnected.
Then after we killed you a few times, I see a "f*** you" message pop up in the corner of the screen. Had me cracking up.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
I think the maps are slightly bigger than they advertised, 8v8 makes it a bore-fest, they need to make it a full 24 players. I can understand limiting it for PC bc 64 would be ridiculous(but chaotically fun im sure) but 16 ppl for console is just stupid and slow paced.PSN: TBD

Ok here's my review of Close Quarters
It is seriously like Call of Duty. There is no teamwork needed whatsoever. It's just running from flag to flag over and over again because it's impossible to hold a flag for more than like a minute.
But it's kinda fun. At first it seemed really cool because it was something new, but it got kinda old fast.
The games go so quick that you need 200% tickets to actually feel like you played a full game. Explosives can get really annoying too.
The maps are really cool. Team deathmatch seems more appropriate for them though.
Gun Master is pretty stupid IMO. It's like team deathmatch, only you get a different gun after ever two kills or something. It wants screw your W/L ratio because even if you lose, you will get a win if the person who wins is on your team.
Also it doesn't help playing with Badb0yz and two of his friends from AxW since they got to the last level before I even got to like level 10
I see myself rarely playing Close Quarters after a while. High ticket Metro requires more skill and teamwork than this. But if you like team deathmatch, this would probably me a good DLC for you
