I have both the 360 and the PS3 and I just got a 5.1 digital surround sound set up. What games use the surround sound best?NFL - Vikings

Re: Best 5.1 Surround Sound Games
Well hmmmmm pretty much any game sounds better in surround sound. But far as make the game really stand out......off the top of my head it would be the following
GTA IV
Modernwarfare 2
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Dragon Age
Mass Effect 2
Alan Wake
Heavy Rain
Gears of War 2
Dead Space - will scare the hell out of you in surround sound
Fear 2 - same as above
Sports games in general sound better
Halo series
Those about the only ones I can think of that made the game seem totally different off the top of my head.
Shooters and horror type games really stand out in surround sound. Makes the hair stand on the back of your neck type of tingley goodness. -

Although an impossible question as this really comes down to personal preference, unique 5.1 stereo setups, equipment, room, cabling, etc... I absolutely love BFBC2 and the sounds of the game. In fact, even better was when I upgraded to the Turtle Beach X41 headset that boasts a dolby digital 7.1 stereo surround, wireless. This is key to going to battle late night when the little lady is sleeping.Comment

Re: Best 5.1 Surround Sound Games
I don't have some monstrous $1200 surround sound setup (mine was only about $300 tbh), but in my experience quality headphones pwn surround sound all day.
That said, definitely Dead Space; definitely BFBC2; and some underrated games in terms of sound-quality:
Fallout 3
MAG
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon RisingComment

I'm putting in a vote for MLB 10 the show. Incredible sound/effects.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon.
