I don't think it really works that way. R* and 2K are under the same umbrella, but they don't exactly connect like that. It's like saying two shows on CBS will have some connection because they are on the same channel.

It's Take-Two you want to be talking about.

            Re: Grand Theft Auto V

The one thing I hope is improved in this game is the cell phone.

I understand why R* decided to have it in the game. It was used to move the story along, a way to get missions, and communicate with characters in a realistic way. At the time it was ingenious but after a while it got annoying. It was kind of awkard to use and i remember being frustrated with it. Not to mention it went off every 5 seconds. While everything else about the game felt "advanced" (amazing graphics, crazy physics engine, breath-taking city, great story and voice acting, etc) the clunky nokia phone just felt out of place to me.

I hated having to wait for my digital cell phone to go off before I could continue with the main story. I liked Red Dead Redemption so much because i didn't feel linked to the main story via text message. Even though I would be doing side quests, I always felt like there was a bigger story going on that I needed to get back to. In GTA IV I felt sort of disconnected from the main story while I was reeking havoc in the streets of liberty city. It wasn't until my cell phone rang that I was reminded that I had to be somewhere and it was time for the story to move along.

I feel Red Dead did a better job at presenting the narrative to the player. I liked the face to face interaction. I liked not having to worry about missing a call from a private number. I liked listening to conversations between characters as they rode on horseback, because of the fact that I was able to listen to the story instead of having to worry if I'm going to crash my car into oncoming traffic. Red Dead fixed most of the issues I had with GTA IV because cell phones, internet, and sports cars didn't exist in the wild west. I hope R* can put a little bit of Red Dead's successes into GTA V and build off of those. It will be interesting to see if the cell phone plays the same role in GTA V as it did in the previous title.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Oh, I didn't mean they have any connection. I just said 2K (which has nothing to do with R*, or at least I never knew there was) does it, so I guess they're not the only ones.

Ah, I thought you were saying we should prepare for disappointment.

There is no RonnieR*, so we're good.

thanks Johnny. Looks to be a leak from a European ad with the Pegi 18 rating on the left of the top picture.

Looks like thats the protagonist on the poster (obviously). However, the artwork officially released the other day did not have him in it (the other picture in the poster). It looks like there will be multiple protagonists in the game.
